My 2024 Lariat FX4 is getting leveled this week ( ReadyLIFT | 1.5'' Leveling Kit - Ford Ranger 4WD 2024-2025 ). I currently have the stock 255/65R18 Lariat tires/wheels on it and will see how it looks after leveling. I'm thinking I'll want somewhat bigger tires.

If I'm being completely honest, I spend 95% of the time on city streets or highways, and my off-road time is generally two-track dirt in the hills of Southern Utah and Southern Nevada. I like the look of a leveled Ranger with the 285/70R17's but I feel like that's just too much for show in my case.

With that in mind, I'm looking at the Bridgestone Dueler Ascent A/T and the Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail A/T and tires in that "on-road all terrain" category. It seems like I'd be happier with something in that class for the vast majority of my driving time. If I get something in 265/70R18 or 275/65R18 I'll have something taller, wider, and more sidewall than I have now without going all the way to the big 285's. Road noise and comfort should be good, and weight isn't a lot more than the factory Wrangler Territory tires, at least in these sizes.

Will the sizes mentioned fit with the 1.5" level and stock +55 offset wheels, or will I need to go more like a +35?

Any thoughts, recommendations, or experiences with this sort of tire?

Out of all the tires in the A/T category that I've reviewed so far, the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W is still the best. I haven't found one yet that can beat that tire in ride comfort, traction, or wear.

You can probably also get your stock tire in a larger size, if you think they are ok. They work fine for my mostly on road use, rain or shine

Out of curiosity, what a/t tires have you tested, and how?

So many it's hard to list. Basically every A/T tire from major manufacturers, and a lot of the M/T tires on the market also. In recent years I've started doing more R/T tires, or as some people call them, "hybrid" tires. Currently I just started a cycle with the Yokohama Geolandar A/T XD. Should be interesting.

How? I put them on my truck or Jeep and use them. I tow at max capacity, commute to work, play a little offroad, drive gravel roads daily. They see scorching summer heat and below zero winter chill. They see snow, ice, and heavy rain. And after 15k to 20k miles I form an opinion. I post periodic updates during the long term reviews on my YouTube channel ("4-LOW").

Falken has figured out the magic formula, because their rubber compound sticks to the road like a cat on carpet regardless of weather. And they wear like iron. We're finishing up a review on the A/T3W that I have on my cousin's truck. They're at nearly 80k miles and finally almost worn out. Just astounding for an A/T on a heavy truck (F-250). I just finished putting almost 20k miles on the new A/T4W and it was proving to be the same. Excellent wear, traction, and ride quality.

Brands I would avoid: Nitto, Goodyear, Milestar, BFG and some Toyo (who owns NItto).

Brands that have been very good: Cooper, Hankook, Firestone

Brands that have been excellent: Falken, Yokohama

I have the Lariat stock rims with a 1.5 inch leveling kit. I have Goodyear All terrain adventure Kevlar tires. 275/65R18. I am pleased with the look and ride. It looks much more aggresive. Took about a 2MPG hit on gas mileage though.

That's sharp! Thanks for sharing. I've got the same truck in azure gray and different running boards. Your running boards look like the Tremor Shin & Calf Scrapers I had on my '22 Tremor.
Thanks! I took off the stock running boards. Got these off Amazon for $159.00. Them, together with the lift and tires and it's like I have a new truck. Very happy with the result.

i always look at the weight of the tires while shopping, as well as the normal ratings. i don;t want to get a tire that causes my gas mileage to drop significantly as i got this truck to replace my previous truck that wasn;t great on gas in town, or on the highway. this truck gets better in town then my previous truck ever got

I used 265 65 17 on my 21. Mickey Thompson Baja Boss. I am the same, usually on the road to work. Every other weekend take dirt bikes out to ride. Dirt road, dessert, mountain roads. Lots of cactus.
I just ordered the same but in an 18' for my new 20225 ranger.
Picture is my 21'

I just installed 265/70 R17 Bridgestone Dueler Ascent AT's on mine. I have zero rubbing with no lift. Although I've only had these on for a few days I can easily say the road manners with this tire easily compare to a very good all-season tire. I really don't think you can go wrong with these based upon what you mentioned.

Running 1.5" level and 265/70R18 with Nitto G3s. Tires have been great on and off road for my needs.

That's almost exactly what I'm going for, but maybe keeping the stock Lariat wheels.
