One Button Remote Start on iPhone (via Action Button)

Just in case anyone was interested, got a 17 Pro earlier today, decided to reassign the action button. To my surprise you can remote start the truck with it if you have the Ford app - enjoy!

But can you shut it off remotely? There used to be about a dozen commands you could set up and control by Siri. Then it went to the FORD app. Could only start, lock and unlock by voice. Impractical if I am in my driveway and voice start it and the key is in the house. Can’t shut it off w/o the key.

You can shut it off via the app still, but it’s on a timer anyway, between 5 & 15 minutes depending on what you set it to

You need to download the Ford app to use the action button btw, then you can shut it off too.

So the action button opens Fordpass and then you use the slider to start stop?
I have my action button set to Silence my phone. I am going to look and see if I can open Fordpass with a triple back tap.

No, it just starts the truck, but if you want to turn it off you can open the app and use the slider to do so

This is cool

There is a way to have the action button run a shortcut and the depending on the orientation of the phone and or focus mode you are in have different things happen

for example logic could be

face up - flashlight toggle
face down - unlock truck
portrait mode - lock truck
otherwise - toggle silent mode

As a follow up to this, can you get Siri to do the commands without unlocking your phone? It was doable earlier before FORDPASS got involved. I used to be able to do it with my phone in my shirt pocket and my hands were full. Now it says you need to unlock your device first.
