I’ve also used Fram for years. The most important thing is regular oil and filter changes. I’m 56, owned many vehicles and I typically use whatever synthetic oil and filter package is on sale.I don’t get it, if FRAM oil filters are so bad, there should be cars/trucks stuck on the side road and a bunch of law suits. That’s all I ever used on my 1st gen taco that lasted me 600k miles without any issues OCI 5K miles and that truck was still running great when I finally sold it after 17 yrs as the original owner.
I have a Fram Synthetic Ultra oil filter in right now and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30. Purchase the oil in bulk, it's cheaper. The cheapest combo on good oil and filter is Kirkland oil when on sale and WalMart Supertech 11955 oil filters. Agree regular oil changes Trumps the latest, greatest Ultra.I’ve also used Fram for year. The most important thing is regular oil and filter changes. every ford vehicle for the last 20 years? has that. my 2008 3.0 v6 ranger had that. my 12 escape had it too. Also the 2.7 has “clear flood mode”. By flooring the accelerator pedal and cranking the engine via starter, the oil system will fill.
