If ya have 2 wheel drive ya can go under left side and get oil filter off/on...4x4 gota go through left wheel era..getting inner fender out way is bitch!!! Ford used half screws half plastic push in fasteners...on oil refill takes full 6+ qt just 6 qt guts just above lower add dot. Did any one get a gas funnel for self sealing gas cap?? When I worked at City Garage every ford had one in glove box!! I didn't have a funnel here that would get pass cap!

Just did the break in oil change last night. Loved finding a loose grade 8.8 bolt sitting on the skid right under the front diff. I couldn't see any missing but have no idea where it would have come from. Really hope it was just dropped in the bay during assembly and left behind.

Funny you mentioned that loose bolt. I had 1200 miles on my lariat and the radiator blew out on me on the way to work 2 weeks ago. Figured it was a defective radiator some how. Nope , the dealer took pics to prove to me and ford what the issue was. Some idiot on the assembly line must have been paying more attention to his phone than his job. The service center found a assembly bolt sandwiched between the radiator an AC condenser. After so many miles of driving , it worked a hole into the radiator. Unreal !

I changed my oil at 500 miles and added Baxters Performance oil filter adapter. It has a check valve to prevent dry starts it uses a wix 57502 spin on oil filter.

Anyone have an oil change video for the 2.3L yet? I am curious to see how much of a pain getting to the filter is.

I was waiting on a video for the 2.3L as well, but no one has put one out. So I decided to go ahead and try it anyway. BTW, I have the 4x4 version without the FX4 package,. After looking at it from above and below, I ended up getting the oil filter out from the top. I used one of those filter wrenches that look like a curved crescent wrench I got from Harbor Freight. I was also happy to find out after taking off the plastic engine cover that the 2.3L has a metal oil pan and a real bolt instead of the plastic ones on the 3.0L. It went smoother than I thought.

Thanks for posting this. Please provide any updates of additional information if available.

What Filter did you end up utilizing? I know it gives the dimensions but was there a specific filter you utilized and cross reference to the model if possible?👍🇺🇸

I just did my first change on my 24 2.3 at 5500 miles. What a pain in the you know what. What the heck was Ford engineering thinking of by putting the filter on the side of the motor. Hidden behind the fender liner secured by 6 or 7 7mm screws and 5 or 6 push pins. That's the worst filter location I've ever experienced. That oil gutter to catch run out from the filter is a little kooky but I'm glad it's there.

I guess it'll be easier the next time.

When the engineer's designed it they never had the truck engine bay to look at, everything designed on computer.

Just a note.

I thought that funnel was specifically for adding gas from a gas can (it goes into the self-sealing gas filler and pushes it open so gas from a container will go in, like if you run out of gas). You may not want to use it for oil.

Didn't see an adapter on their site specifically for the Ranger raptors motor but will call and ask!! I'm glad they have something available.

Thanks for posting this is exactly what I was looking for. Looking to get the 3.0 ecoboost as much protection as possible before starting any additional performance related mods. Didn't see an oil filter
