Greetings, I have a factory installed keypad (color matches the truck) on the drivers door of my 2024 XLT FX4. The keypad came with a 5-digit factory code that words just fine with the door keypad. I understand there can be additional codes in use besides the factory code and one just programs the code in settings on the 12" screen. Consequently, when I tried to input my own keypad code into the settings I received an error stating I have an invalid factory code. However, this code is the same 5-digit factory code that came with the vehicle and works on the door keypad. I've been told by the local Ford service department that aftermarket keypads have been installed in the factory on some vehicles, but they generally are black and don't match the color of the door. Mine matches the color of the door and it would be nice to be able to program in my own code.

Any solutions or suggestions out there?

Not sure but I found this Technical Service Info notice.

All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicle’s owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

you can also look for the "securicode" sticker located behind trim on the driver side. I was able to see it by looking to the left directly under the steering wheel. Peer through the part between trim panel and the column itself. Maybe the card they gave you was the wrong one.

Cool! I was able to find the code using your instructions and it worked for the factory setting. I was able to input my own PIN but, alas, I must not be doing something right. The PIN I input does not work. Hmm. I even tried following the instructions on the sheet that came with the original key code. Did not get the flashing light as it said I should.

Thanks again though. Your assistance at least got me past the factory code.

If I remember correctly, new keypad codes cannot be input through the infotainment screen, even though there is an input screen for it. I can't remember if it's a bug or what but no one can on the 24 Rangers at this time.

You can enter new codes through the keypad though.

When I was picking up my truck the dealer had to call someone to get a door key code. And it works fine. But when I was hooking up a dash cam and radar detector I found the door key car attached to the fuse panel. That code does not work. Scratching my head over that one. I think you can change the pin at the key pad or at least I have in the past. I need to figure that out.

There are two sets of codes.

The first is through the infotainment system and to see that code, as mentioned above, you need to stick your cell phone camera under the dash (left of drivers side) and take a picture of the ECU module which has it printed on it. I did that and while it did get me into the pin setting on the infotainment console it did nothing for the door code.

The second code, which did work, was found on a card in my glove box.

I don't know what the infotainment system code is good for yet, but I do have it set. So bottom line, look for the card in your glove box and ignore the other.

Interesting, should you know how to change it through the keypad, I would be very interested. As others have noted, there are two sets of codes and the one through the console does not work.

Unfortunately neither the master code or card in the glovebox work for me on the door keypad or infotainment console on mine. Guess I’m gonna have to call the dealer

That's a bummer. At least the code on my card works. Good luck with the dealer. I find it discouraging though that my dealer's service department didn't know/tell me about the master code for the info center being available by peering under the steering wheel. Hmm.

I had a little booklet in my glovebox that had a little plastic sleeve that have a card in it that had my door code and instructions how to reprogram it.

I have that same plastic card/instructions. However, I always corresponded the instructions with the information center/factory PIN. Hmm.

How about that! Just follow the instructions and it works... As I said in my defense I always correlated the instructions on the card/printout with having to go through the system set up. Thank you Velociraptor!

I programmed a new pin # on mine using the keypad on the door. I used the same pin# from my 2020 Raptor because it was easier to remember.
