Ranger 2024-2025 Bed Extender from Ford - Rivets needed?

I purchased the bed extender from Ford for my 2024 Ranger Raptor. It comes in several pieces that you have to assemble prior to installation. The installation is pretty straightforward, but it did call for a rivet tool to rivet some of the pieces together before you screw the pieces together. I don't have a rivet tool. Seems to me the screws are holding very tight and the rivets aren't necessary. Looks like it's working properly as it should without the rivets. Wondering what other guys who have purchased a bed extender from Ford did about this issue? Thanks

I got the bed extender from Ford Accessories as well, the rivots definitely seem overkill and I didnt use them during assembly.

I went and bought me a rivet gun that I have proudly used twice and I will probably never use again.

Ford site says the Ranger bed extender does NOT fit the Raptor. True? I thought the tailgates were the same.

I have a 2024 raptor and the Ford bed extender I purchased through Ford accessories fits just perfectly. Been using it for over a year and no problems.
