@Alaska Steve I tried connecting the red pos wire to the fog light no:14 wire on the back of the switch, however no luck - I did notice as soon as the wire was connected it wouldn't turn the switch off of the dash cluster, so im wondering what was going on there.
When I first looked at your supplied wiring diagrams, I thought the switch power was on a ring terminal (one wire). But after looking at it again, it might be a barrel power connector (two wire). If the latter is the case, then you need to add a ground to the relay switch input.

If that doesn't work, turn the ignition switch to On (don't start the truck) and check the voltage on pin 14 with the fog lamp switch on; it should 12-14 VDC. If it is not a steady voltage (indicative of the CAN bus), then using the OEM switch might not work. If it is a steady voltage, it should work in this updated configuration.

I'm not sure what you mean by "I did notice as soon as the wire was connected it wouldn't turn the switch off of the dash cluster, so im wondering what was going on there", but maybe my comments above already address this.

Hope this helps...

@Alaska Steve

Again thank you for your efforts on the diagrams - gladly appreciate it.

to clarify what I meant in my previous statement was. initially I can press the fog light button and it eliminates the icon on my dash cluster showing the fog lights have been turned on, however when I try adding the wire to the switch on no14 the switch stops working and showing the icon on the dash.

Ill have to recheck with the multi meter on the wire with ignition on, but I recall it had a constant power and it only changed when I pressed the switch.

The dash icon shouldn’t be negatively impacted by adding the wire to pin 14. The added current draw from the relay is minor (<0.25A) when active. Check to see if the wire from the switch has 12V at the relay. At the end of the day, you might get the lights working without the dash indicator. I don’t see why that would be the case though.

@Alaska Steve i just checked the wiring with the voltmeter , the red power wire from relay is showing constant 12v , which was the wire added to 14 on the switch . the wire 14 shows 0.02 v added an image of the relay

The voltage across pins 85 and 86 should be 12v with the switch on and the ignition switch in the On position. It looks 86 is the + side and 85 is ground. If 86 is wired to the fog switch 14 and 85 is actually ground, then it should work.

so should an additional ground need to be added as previously mentioned?

Do a continuity check between 85 and a chassis ground. If reads Open, then add a ground. But there is already a wire on that pin; where does it go and what voltage is on it? Simply adding a ground on that pin and not knowing what is on that other wire could cause a new problem.

If the wire on 85 has 12v, that’s not going to damage the relay (12v on 86 and 85). If that is the case, then adding ground to 85 without disconnecting the existing wire could cause a short and damage whatever that wire is currently connected to, so verify first.

@Alaska Steve Pretty much tried everything and have had no success unfortunately, I guess my only option is just to just use the aftermarket switch. I mean I could get an auto electrician out to look at it, I guess it's just a cosmetic thing really.

Bummer… it would nice to it the you want too. I had pod lights installed and he put this small switch in for. It’s easy to locate by feel for me.

I’ve wired many lights on motorcycles and jeeps, I just didn’t want to go through that on this truck, so I had a shop do it this time.

@Alaska Steve yeah it’s frustrating when you’re unsuccessful trying to complete something that’s trivial in size but obviously more complex then my capabilities. I think i’ll just install the switch as per what you have and just accept the fact lol . Iv spent so much time on this just for a switch , thanks for all your help once again
