SSM 52380 2024 Ranger Raptor - Clicking/Ratcheting Sound From The All-Terrain Control Module (ATCM) When Changing Drive Modes

Some 2024 Ranger Raptor vehicles may exhibit a condition where the ATCM makes a clicking/ratcheting sound when turning the drive mode rotary dial to change the drive mode. Reprogramming or replacing the ATCM will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that a solution for this condition will be released via a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in Q4 2024. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in December 2024. Monitor OASIS for additional information. Mine definitely does this. The haptic feedback when you turn the dial sounds like its broken.

Not super stoked on half baked truck release, but at least Ford is addressing some shit.

Anyone know if the connectivity they mention needing to be enabled also reports driving data to a third party like LexusNexus?

Yes. There are ways around this, but they make it difficult.
