What I don't like is sliding across the seat bolstering when getting in or out. That will 100% break down the bolstering/side of the seat more quickly than necessary. I'm gonna leave mine on so I can be easier on the sides of the seat.I like my side steps for body protection, but for me they seem to be more in the way of getting in and out quickly then they are helpful.
I think they are too high off the ground and seem to put me up way too high and then I have to crawl down into the truck.
Same thing happened with my Bronco.
Except with the 35s it was tall enough I did want something so I pulled the slider steps off the Bronco and installed power steps, which were about perfect for it.
I am thinking I don't really need anything for getting into the Ranger easily and quickly even with my upgraded 34s, which are really only 33.5.
I seem to recall a thread on here where someone posted pictures with the steps off his new Ranger Raptor, but I can't seem to find it.
I was also thinking there was talk of some cladding that be stuck on the belly of the truck to get some added paint protections with the steps gone.
Would love to see more pics without steps and to hear others thoughts on this, plus if anyone knew anything about the protective cladding for the belly of the trucks I would love to know more about it and where to get it.

Lots have done it, but stay off any gravel roads or parking lots. Factory boards are only thing keeping sides of truck from being all chewed up from gravel. Only reason I've kept them on mine. Even with mudflaps the gravel pings against bottom of the boards.I like my side steps for body protection, but for me they seem to be more in the way of getting in and out quickly then they are helpful.

Yep. Boards serve as protection for truck more than anything else.I am sure that is true.
I did leave the steps on my 25 model, not worried about the seats.
Truth be told the seats could stand to have a little extra foam added to them anyway.
I am mainly leaving them on my 25, due to all the rock damage I am getting on the back fenders.
Even with PPF, mud flaps, I am still seeing significant damage from not having them on there.
The damage is already done, so I am leaving them off my 2024 but in effort to protect my 2025 RR I have left them on and did lower vinyl wrap for added protection and aesthetics.

I actually live on a paved road with a paved driveway and only occasionally go off road or travel on gravel roads.Lots have fone it, but stay off any gravel. Factory boards are only thing keeping sides of truck from being all chewed up from gravel. Only reason ive kept them on. Even with mudflaps the gravel pings against bottom of the boards.
seem to be on back-order but found a site that has them slightly cheaper: https://s1partscenter.com/brands/ford/accessories/exterior/trim-kits/vr1wz1613208bI found the underbody protective cladding.
It is a Ford accessory.

I see you have an XLT, which is good, since these didn't say they are not for Raptor at least not when I ordered mine. But they are not really a perfect fit for the front fenders of a Raptor.seem to be on back-order but found a site that has them slightly cheaper: https://s1partscenter.com/brands/ford/accessories/exterior/trim-kits/vr1wz1613208b
