I have a new 2024 Ranger Lariat. Anyone have issues with these cheap, plastic trim pieces rattling? If so, how did you fix it?

Same with me on my Lariat and now on my Raptor. I wedged some foam underneath the trim pieces. Enough that it would stop moving, but not too much so it does not bulge out.

Does the trim piece come off? Just wondering how you were able to wedge underneath it.

I had not tried to take it off. I literally used a thin piece of plastic to stuff some thin shipping foam folded over three times up in there.

Thanks for your reply. I've had the same experience with my Ranger and it's astonishing you pay this kind of money and you get this rattle annoying the heck out of you.

Yup You spend $50K on a Lariat and expect Lexus quality, but the reality is "Its a FORD" . I always buy base model trucks and the cheapest ones on the lot. My Ranger has 4wheel drive and side steps ...no other options and I added an aftermarket receiver hitch . i'm good to go. Yes mine rattles too.
The dashboard rattles, but I dont care . I will have the truck paid off in 3 years and I will beat the living snot out of it until it dies!

Same rattle on my 2025 Lariat. Built Ford Rough strikes again (though they did warn me with the blue badges). Thanks for the tip. Will try it.

I don't have a rattle, but I have a popping noise whenever I lift my elbow off of the elbow rest. It's like it partially sticks, then when there is no pressure on it, it pops up. Annoying as crap.

I actually feel sorry for you that an easily-rectified small issue like a trim piece rattling motivates you to forego things like projector headlights, keyless ignition, second glove box, ambient lighting, and on and on. To be honest though, in my youth I used to forego options for fear of unreliability (masked as my pretending to be prudent and smart) until I eventually realized that I was shortchanging myself and nobody else.

As for this rattle specifically, I'd consider taking the door panel off to see if that trim piece can be better secured from behind. I've taken all four of my door panels off to add sound proofing, but I don't recall if that particular trim piece poked all the way through or not. Taking the door panels off is pretty easy to do in under 5 minutes.

It all comes down to money ........I cannot justify spending the approximate extra $10,000 on a truck to have creature comforts. Better headlights would be nice, but its not a dealbreaker for me.
Glad you fixed the issue. It seems the Quality has been low lately at ford. lots of recalls too.
