Hi all, my RTR Tech 6 17x9 Wheels have arrived. Have ordered some General Grabbers 285 70 R17 to wrap them in.

However, just though I’d seek some advice in that the stock wheels are 8.5 not 9’, assuming I shouldn’t have any issues with this tyre size?

Thanks in advance

Yes, the 17x9 will be fine on stock tire size. I run the RTR EVO 6 17x9 30mm. Basically these offer the same stance of 17x8.5 25mm in terms of "poke" if you factor in that extra half inch of wheel, so 30mm+the extra 1/4th inch of wheel on the outside.

Are you guys buying 5 wheels to use one as a spare?
Personally no, not worth it sitting under the truck getting battered for a flat, the original will do just fine.
I am. The spare doesn't get battered because it's mounted face up. 99% of the debris hits inside of the wheel. If you're kick up that much stuff, you're spare will be taking less damage than the 4 you have mounted and driving on anyways.

Also using a 5 tire rotation will increase the life of the tires and you won't have an old ass spare tire when you're on the 2nd and 3rd set of tires later on.

Been shopping wheels since I bought my truck. Think Im going with black EVO 6 when they get back in stock.

Excellent choice, they are 22.5lbs compared to the roughly 37lb stock beadlocks. You'll notice the weight savings.

Got them fitted, some difference to the way it drives. Much smoother, lighter feeling

Like the rear light bar location. Here it wouldn't be allowed as it would block the plate.

You can close this gap on that trim piece by giving it a nice pound and it'll seat properly. Mine came like that from delivery and I just smacked it and it was flush.

That bits my fault, tried lifting them up to help waterproof the bed - ended up permanently bending it. Need some new caps so I can finally get it more watertight. These new rangers are shite for that, my old shape ones were always much better.
