I did a search and couldn't find the answer to this question. It also doesn't seem to be answered in the owners manual. Does my '25 Ranger Raptor come with a security system? If it does, is the security system armed whenever I lock the vehicle?

The reason I ask is if I lock the RR by touching the appropriate place on the door handle, I hear the truck lock, but nothing else happens. If I lock the truck by pressing the lock button on the fob, same thing. However, if I press the lock button on the fob twice, the truck locks, and the horn sounds.

Yes the truck has a security system, I think there might be a way in settings to possibly change it to where it honks when you lock it from the door handle. Not 100% but I think I saw something in settings where you could change some of those audible alerts like that.

There's an option but I believe it only sounds if you hit the lock twice on the fob.

OK, thanks. Does the security system always arm when the truck is locked, regardless of the way it is locked? On all my previous vehicles, there was a little red LED flashing somewhere to indicate the system was armed.

Thanks. I guess it helps, but it seems kind of outdated. “The alarm is ready to be armed when there is no key in the ignition.” Well, there is never a key in the ignition, but I guess this all means that the alarm is armed whenever you lock the vehicle.

I still have a key in my 25. The FOB is your key with push button.. I just always lock mine with FOB twice, honks. I know it's set.

The arming method is on the dated side of advanced(ing) technology. We can unlock and disarm the alarm simply with touch when opening a door, at least a front door; but, to lock and arm the alarm we have to take the fob out of a pocket.

Once it warms, I'll go open the driver's window, get out, and lock the doors with the Ford App. Then, reach in through the open window, open the door, and see if the alarm sounds--indicating the app lock/unlock feature does arm/disarm the alarm.

The app is supposed to arm the alarm. Real world testing would be great, I don't use it myself.

I haven't taken the Raptor on the ferry yet but with the previous 2019 Ranger. The alarm activates when I lock with the fob but does not activate when I lock with lock button on inside of door. Hoping its still the same the old Ranger would set off the alarm when the ferry hit rough water if I locked with the fob.

Testing the alarm is simple. 1st leave the window down. Lock with the fob pushing the button twice so hear hear it honk. Leave the fob far enough away the vehicle will not recognize it. Then reach in the window and open the door. Alarm should go off. The try it with pushing fob button once and see what happens. The touch the door handle to lock the truck and open the door from inside. You could also do the same test with the window up and somebody sitting inside.

OK, it's freezing out, but I decided to test this anyway. I came home from the grocery store, lowered the driver's side window, turned the truck off, and got out. I locked the truck by hitting the lock button on the fob twice and heard the truck lock and the horn sounded. I put the key inside, came back outside and reached in through the window and opened the door. Nothing happened. It seems that the security system (if it actually has one) isn't armed. Any ideas?
