My truck has been built since 6/7, with no updates since then. I have a research ticket submitted to Ford and my dealer has been hounding his rep about why the truck hasn’t shipped. He just got this from the rep today:

Mine has been "In Production" since February 13th. I wouldn't hold your breath on this one.

Yeah, I suppose it just feels good to have literally any piece of information about it. Has been a complete mystery for 4 months. Now it’s… less of a mystery… I guess? 🤔🥴

That's awful....

The Raptor I initially signed up for (Ordered June 2023, numerous schedule changes and then finally "In Production" on 6/14/24) finally got "Built" this week. I did everything I could to get info, too, with no luck.......

But I walked away from that one for a couple reasons. Raptor attempt #2 for me is supposed to be built in a few weeks. We'll see how it goes.

I'm seeing lots more lot inventory of raptors. There is one tiny dealership in a small town outside seattle that has 4 raptors sitting on their lot right now (and has had them for weeks).

Well pricing them $5K over MSRP is probably not helping them sell 'em....LOL.

I also like their slogan "Where Our Reputation Outshines Any Price Match".....or in other words, yeah we charge a lot more, but we're cool people. ha ha

Yep, true, though it's worth noting this is 30miles from downtown seattle and this is less then typical in the area. I bet they would take msrp.

For reference, here is Bill Pierre Ford which has 9 raptors in stock for around 10k adm.

That Pierre Ford group really rubbed me the wrong way... they are buying trucks from midwest dealers and marking them up astronomically. Tried to make it sound like they were doing a service for customers, and they were "just covering costs" at $10-15K ADM back in June. When the Sales Manager told me this info verbatim, I shared my opinions on their pricing and told him I'd happily take my business elsewhere. Think they texted me like 5-6 more times asking if I was still interested :D

Hope they sit on their lots adding to their overhead for months.

Totally true. I lived in Bellevue, WA back in 2017 and was shopping for an F-150 Raptor. Bill Pierre Ford had insane markups even back then. "Covering costs?" Don't do me any favors. Avoid this dealership unless you have $$ to waste and are totally desperate.

That's strange. For a RR, I was scheduled for production 9/23, currently in production as of 9/19ish , today I received an update of delivery from chat for 10/23-10/29. Granted, no mud flaps, bedliner nor keypad. Was a a dealer stock order I jumped on in June 2024.

You ever wonder why some dealers (big) get vehicles scheduled, built and delivered quickly even after these stock orders are submitted later than special orders... and other dealers (small) have special orders scheduled and built from being submitted way before but they never get delivered or take months or remain stuck in a status. It may not be as clear as a hold, options or parts availability or even transport issues or qc, etc. To me there is still an undertone that Ford still has to follow the ole "turn and earn" formula as it relates to sales and allocation of order types based on dealership categories. I see no other reason this can happen based on comparative research on similar vehicles, later build dates, etc. Yet they bring you into status updates, but not the world of secrets between Ford and the favorite dealerships. Here are two examples I followed that are exactly the same builds and one is delivered and the other has had the same secondary status since 9/7 of produced no holds. Just theorizing and sharing to this thread.

Yeah. This kind of shit is so infuriating. Mainly because they leave the customers in the dark about it. They won’t tell me anything about my vehicle, and haven’t since the tracker was updated 6/7. It’s just a black box of mystery. And every person and department I’ve reached out to is completely unhelpful. They either can’t get information from the plant, or they can but won’t give it to me—and honestly, I don’t know which is worse.

It's the latter (they refuse to provide the info) which is worse to me. That is just a terrible way to treat your customers.

I understand the challenges of manufacturing vehicles these days as well as anyone. I have worked in the industry my whole life including a stint at the very plant where these Ranger Raptors are made. I know very well what info is and isn't available.

Thanks for the insights. I was afraid it was the latter and yeah, I think that is worse now that you mention it.

I’ve always driven Tacomas, and have had a Ram 1500 and some Chevys. This RR will be my first Ford and it’s looking like it will be my last. Should have gone with the Tacoma TRD Pro, but I’m a sucker for more power (there’s never enough!) so the Raptor roped me in. 🤦🏼‍♂️

You know there another way to deal with this, especially with Ford. The NHTSA. NHTSA regularly accepts complaint from consumers, investigates and causes manufactures to comply thru their mandates and legislation. Takes many voices but only one at the NHTSA to listen.

RR owners can file a safety issue with them, and if deemed an actual public safety concern, Ford can be forced to provide the braces and installation for free under a mandatory recall. This happens regularly with many automobile manufactures.

Mind you this is just a suggestion, but worth looking into. Yes we have to file independently but with one voice on this particular issue. There are also other consumer watchdog groups that can had have put pressure on auto manufacturers including Ford for such entering and design defects. Federal Trade Commission for one.

I realize this can be a long drawn out process but it does produce results across the board, in the form of TSB and mandatory recalls.🇺🇸
