Spray on Bed Liner from Ford or Not?

There are rattle can liner sprays you can buy, if you are going through the effort to touch it up with black spray paint may as well do it right

i have used them. if i have one in the garage i will use it but until i can get one, i just do the black paint since i am 1/4 mile from the ocean.

I think whether you order a spray in or have the dealer do it is splitting hairs. I ordered mine with the liner and it’s great. After delivery had a tri fold cover put on Just like your going to do. Having Ford spray the liner only took a few extra days. I waited for 2 months to get the truck anyway, so again splitting hairs. Congrats and good luck from one shooter to another.

I have had spray in liners in my last three trucks. I like not having to worry about scratches just tossing stuff back there. And the side protection is nice. I haven't experienced it chipping or coming off, but I am not extremely rough with it. I would be worried about mats trapping moisture. But maybe not.
When I was looking at trucks this go around, I sought out a place about an hour away if I didn't find one that already had it. Maybe look locally just in case.

I've used those as well but it's been several years. Yes, they are very durable and stuff slides easily on them.

I had the factory sprayed liner and trifold cover in my ‘21 and ‘24 Rangers. For light duty, as is your use case, it’s fine. The factory outsources the work locally near the factory and it adds a few days to delivery (I had to wait four months from my order date, so what’s a few more days). No issues for me in five years and I would consider it again on a future build, but I don’t have any experience with aftermarket spray liners to compare against.

I got it with my 23' f350, as said before, it's fine for light duty. I put a tear in mine about 4" long just from loading 6' length logs sliding in.
On the ranger coming in the dealer is going to have the locals do it. He says it's better product, LineX, as it's thicker and also applied to a scuffed bed unlike factory. The factory doesn't scuff the bed paint and it peals off very easily, it invites tears like the one I put in my f350.

While I was never really rough on my bedliner on the 5G, it never pealed. I have tossed my mountain bike in there, sliding it in under the tonneau cover multiple times. It scuffed up my pedals but that's about it.

LINE-X is cheaper and better than the Ford one. I paid 400 for mine.

When traveling to the range, most of my gear will go in the bed, but my rifles and handguns don’t ride in the back. I don’t have a bed cover, but even if I did, my weapons and optics go in the back seat even though they are in protective cases. But I don’t want my gear sliding around and getting beat up either. A bed mat or rug will give better traction than a bed liner, but trapped moisture underneath them can cause rust. The optimal solution would be a spray in liner with a bed mat. It may seem redundant, but it’ll protect the bed from scratches, dings and moisture plus it’ll hold your cargo in place while you are traveling.

thats what i have currently, the spray in bed liner and a bed mat. should work perfectly to stop rust and keep stuff from sliding and scraping the bed
