Spray Painted my exhaust tips

If they hold up, I'll be very happy. Imo they turned out great. That was one of the few things I hated about the truck were the tips, it didn't match anything on the truck. I did some light sanding and 3 coats of vht flame then 3 coats of vht flame clear. Used it on my f150 and 3 years later there isn't a chip so fingers crossed.

How much of the exhaust did you have to remove in order to paint?

I didn't remove it. I removed the two bolts in hangers in the back and that dropped them down enough, I then wedged a piece of wood to hold them in place and hold them down to where I wanted them. I spent about an hour just masking everything off so I got no overspray. Then sprayed away.

That is the way they should look. I'm going to do the same.

They do look good. When I think of the difference in the chrome tips on the Ford/Borla catback I had on my Lariat the stock ones look barely even polished. There is a thread somewhere about some black weld ones that look really good but are stupid expensive.

They should hold up fine. I used similar high temp heat paint on my gen 2 tips 6 years ago, still look good.
