I too have a noise coming from what sounds like dead ahead of the steering wheel in the dash somewhere. It's pretty infrequent so that one isn't bugging me yet, but the clicking/whining/noisy compressor sounds abnormal.
I didn't have the noise from the dash until I picked up the truck from the dealership last time. When driving in town it's pretty annoying.

Ford corporate at most is going to give them maybe a paid hour of diag time for warranty purposes. So unless the problem drops in their lap as obvious, they generally do not like to get wrapped up in potential drawn out problems they are losing money on.

Not excusing it, but just giving the reality of the warranty system between the dealership and corporate. It forces the customer to have to be an ass to push things through to a conclusion.
Believe me I will harass them to no end. They'll either fix all the issues or buy it back. No one should pay this much for a mid size truck and have this many intial issues.

Just an update. Finally heard from the service manager this morning. I believe it was because I left them a bad review on my experience with the service dept. He talked like Ford is saying the compressor noise is normal. How they can say that is beyond me. At this point he believes they have no intention of trying to remedy the issue. I'm going to try to contact the customer service rep today and tell them if that is the case I'll work with the dealership to initiate a buy back. And I probably won't go back with a Ford. And I hope their social media rep reads this. I'm done with Ford and this dealership.

Have you tried another dealership? Not all of them are douche nozzles if you be honest with them upfront about the problems you have with the other dealership.

When you say "buyback", are you talking about Lemon Lawing it or expecting a goodwill corporate buyback? If the latter, that may not be automatic that Ford corporate will buy into it at first if at all. Your current dealer given what you have said so far, is not going to initiate that for you and only will act in any capacity from corporate down telling them take possession of the vehicle after YOU start the buyback process with Ford corporate.

The dealership and customer service have already started talking about a buy back. I'm waiting on them to get back with me.

I guess I am use to dealing with FCA products. They would either tell you "tough luck, no issue" or make you have to push it as a Lemon Law case with it more than likely going to arbitration with the circumstance you mentions.

The ambivalence your dealership shows in this is interesting.

The dealership claims their hands are tied by Ford. Customer service is telling me it should be resolved. Whoever the service manager is talking to at Ford is a totally different person and none of them are communicating with each other. That leaves me in the middle. And I'm tired of it.

Just a follow up. As I said before the dealership has pretty much said they are not going to do anything about this issue. The service manager lied to Ford on several things. One was he told the customer relations rep that they offered to put me in a new vehicle which never happened. Ford customer relations doesn't seem to be much help either. If you are having the same issue all I can say at this time is good luck. I hate to say this but with all the Ford vehicles I've owned in my lifetime it's time to move on.

I'm not going to move on over a little noise from the AC compressor. What I will do is go find another Ranger Raptor and see if it exhibits the same noise as mine. If it does, then it's normal and just annoying. If it does not, then I will take video of both and press the issue. To me, it doesn't sound normal, and I've owned a LOT of Ford vehicles. None of them have had an audible AC compressor outside of the normal click/snap of the clutch engaging.

Curious though. What build month is your truck from? It's on the sticker in the driver's door jam.

I'm at work right now so can't look. I believe the blend date was in August. I'm not the type to accept a noise that I know is not "normal". The Ranger Lairat I test drove before I bought this one did not exhobit the same noise. I walked around it pretty thoroughly. I've owned 2018, 2019 and 2022 F150s. Also a 2018 Escape, a 2020 Ranger Lariat. None of these exhibited any type of similar noise. So I can't accept it as normal.

So is it still being bought back? Your last post about the dealership lying and Ford Customer Relations not being much help leaves that ambiguous.

Yeah, they kind of did a 180 on what was said before. Customer relations was telling they didn't recommend the buy back program now. A month ago it was the first they they would bring up. Leaves me feeling the whole deal is just a run around to keep me distracted.

Sounds like Catch-22 situation. Ford Customer Relations is reliant upon the dealership documenting and starting the process. Without the dealership onboard, Ford Corporate (customer relations) really cannot push the dealership since they are hiding behind their franchise agreement.

I would highly suggest if not already done, try another dealership. They are not all douche nozzles and maybe they can actually make a effort to get it fixed or maybe facilitate a buyback advocate to Ford Customer Service on your behalf.

Barring that, kind of left looking into what arbitration, lemon law or just having to take it in the shorts and trade off for something else.

I agree. I told customer relations I'm willing to discuss options if the dealership will play nice. I can ask about seeing another dealership but not sure I trust the other local dealer. They have a pretty bad rep locally.
