Hey everyone. Its mostly on cold start for couple seconds, strange noise from the engine bay, but also happens sometimes when engine is at temperature.
I just picked up from Ford and they say its because dirty engine bay, in my opinion its not that dirty but I'll clean it tomorrow and see if it helps.
Anyone faced similar problem? thanks in advance for any help :please:

Hmm haven't heard that noise before. Like you said, maybe give it a good clean and see if that helps. Maybe some dirt or pebbles gunking something up.

I cleaned the engine, same thing, took it back to Ford, told me to leave the car and they will investigate more so I'm waiting for the results. I'm betting this is related to cam phasers, we will see 🤔

Sounds like this? Cam phaser problem on an F150.

Okay, so Ford gave me the car back, saying 'there is something wrong with the engine but they need more time to investigate and the first appointment is 11.11.25. But till then I can drive without worry cause they don't see any fault codes.' This makes me a bit confused: if there is something wrong with the engine but Ford don't know what, how do they know it is safe to continue driving? Anyway, I tried hinting to them about the cam phasers but no interest in my inside—nothing else I can do, just wait for the next appointment.

I've read that a little cam phaser rattle on startup is not that bad and stops when oil pressure is up.
But if it continues to rattle, especially when accelerating, then it's a real problem. The truck will still run, but it'll be noisy and not at peak performance. In that case, it definitely needs to be corrected.
AFAIK, phasers won't through codes. And it's terrible that tech don't know how to diagnose problems with codes being thrown.
