Toyota quality has gone down with the new generation vehicles as well. Every brand has potential issues just depends which ones you want to deal withExtended warranty? I’d buy a Toyota.
You lost me - are you trying to safe tune isn't worth the risk?I had this issue in my gen2 and know multiple others that did as well. I can’t believe after all the time and money they spent on engineering this vehicle and their cost of repairs for previous recalls on the gen2 they still have not learned their lesson and engineered this problem into the truck again. Someone should get canned over this…maybe the whole department. Unbelievable. Maybe they just wanted to make sure they keep their dealership service departments and themselves profitable esp post warranty. As we all know these big car companies make most of their money off of parts and repairs than actual vehicle sales. No issues on mine so far.
Let’s see what happens with those who got the Performance tune when their warranty expires after three years/36k and phasers go out. With the gen2 they would only offer the replacement until a certain mileage from what I recall. I’m sure they would find a way to somehow blame it on the tune. ?‍In my opinion, after having had a bunch of sports cars and track time in them, this truck has more than enough power for daily driving given the traction limits with off road tires. More power is mostly just for bragging rights as you wouldn’t really be able to put it down well at all much less have situations where you could actually use it.
I was saying that I’m disappointed and very surprised they have continued to engineer this same design flaw into new eco-boost engines yet again. You would think they would have figured it out by now before releasing it given it’s been going on since 2017 at least. I also think with a flaw like this it makes a tune less favorable in the event your engine desides to grenade. A definitely think the tune isn’t worth it either way esp if you want to get the Ford extended warranty, but that has been discussed many times over in other threads. However, it’s obviously up to the individual if they want to send it as long as they know the possible consequences. It also a shame Ford doesn’t 100% back their own performance divisions tune with the original factory warranty for the 5 years. They obviously don’t trust it and know it will add significant wear and tear and hence lower engine longevity. It’s just like Dinan and BMW but those are two separate companies. You lost me - are you trying to safe tune isn't worth the risk?

the ESP doesn't cover the tune?
..04ŮŞ would be 60,000 x .0004, or 24. Still, even 1 in 2500 failures doesn't seem very good when it comes to quality control from the part manufacturer. Or maybe it is... I'm not an industrial or mechanical engineer. That would be 240
What is your motor 2.3 2.7 3.0 3.5 how many miles alsoHas anyone come across their new gen Ranger Raptor making a terrible noise on first start up of the day?
It almost sounds like my old diesel without enough oil in it.
It is going into ford next week for a diagnosis, but it would be good to know if this has happened elsewhere and what the outcome was.
Thank you
