Just sharing this, in case some of you might find this useful…

I had 2 F150 Raptors in the past and I missed having the tailgate steps.
I had 2 5th gen Rangers in the past, that had the retractable step but for some reason,
I dont think they have one that fits the 6th gen Ranger Raptor due to the exhaust location.
(I do remember seeing a thread about the retractable step for a RR, but they dont ship to USA).

Anyway, After seeing several different models on amazon, online and ebay…
I decided to get this model: https://www.amazon.com/KEWISAUTO-Fo...ce-8bd1-45b5ff5a7546&pd_rd_i=B0DBZGDGRT&psc=1
because it has a pivot feature, folding, and a grab handle.

Note that on description, its the shorter 42” model thats compatible with a 51” tailgate width.
But when I got it, I knew right away that it needed a slight mod for it to clear the Tailgate latches.
(see pics)

I assembled the ladder per instructions, but I had to modify the pivot base, using a grinder
to cut a notch to accomodate the Ranger’s Tailgate latch(see pics).

That was the only hard part! I might’ve been overzealous with the grinder, as I hit part of the
round pivot area(see pics) Good thing it Did not effect it in any way. LoL

The rest was easy, as I only had to drill 3 holes on the taigate (a fourth one is optional, due to the base hole not sitting flush with the tailgate surface).

I used the provided self tapping screws to secure the pivoting base (see pics) and I didnt need to drill extra holes for the ladder straps, because I used the 2 existing tailgate screws instead ( see pics).

What I like about it:

With the pivot feature, I can use it on the back or side to access the bed.

Its very Stable, once you secure and tighten the knob on the pivot base.

It has a folding grab handle.

Its good quality, and the coating almost matches the bed liner.

It tucks neatly behind the tailgate when not in use.

Things I dont like about it:

So far none, but I will update this post in the long run…

I can live with +12lbs of additional non-rotating mass for that level of convenience. Why Ford didn't do this on the Raptor is beyond me...I get that it's a bare bones performance truck, BUT, one or two little things like that can go a long way to making it more livable for a variety of uses.
I agree.

They couldve added a pullout step ladder, from inside the tailgate
similar to the F150 Raptors. (but, in a smaller Ranger scale).

That is the correct link I posted.
It should look like this (see pics)
The actual max height is 42” (tailgate to ground) and max load is 600lbs.

The link is correct, but the item details differs from the actual product pics and description
as you see in the pics I highlighted for the 42” model.

Im guessing its due to the seller not updating it, as they have several of these different style of ladders for sale.

Probably right, it just threw me off. Thanks.

I installed a similar ladder on my RR. However, I like this model better as it rotates and has that grab bar. I did not have to cut a notch. If I replace the one I have with this one, I wonder if I would have to cut notch. My truck is not a raptor. A 2024 Ranger XLT.

For me, it's the way you've made the most out of every inch of the bed. I'm particularly intrigued at your use of the Swingcases- very nice! 🤩

I see you have the ladder on the tailgate. Did you have to make a cut into it to make it work? Do you know the model of that. I only found ones for different trucks. I have a 2024 Ranger XLT

Yes, I had to cut a notch to match the tailgate latch.
(See pics and info on 1st page of this thread)

I believe 6th gen Rangers all have similar Tailgate size? Not 100% sure…
(Hood and tailgates should be similar size, but the Ranger Raptor has wider body fenders)

Like this ladder a lot, especially the swivel feature. Thanks for the write-up. Too bad there's not one these that stores inside the bed, up along one side. Unless deployed to get it out of the way it blocks loading and unloading, plus being able to use the tailgate as a seat and work surface. It's not that often I need to get all the way up in the bed so I would be moving it out of the way more than I'd use it, otherwise I'd seriously consider it. My solution isn't as elegant or clever but works well enough until I find something better.
