Dear friends,

Wolfbox needs your help please!

We are looking for some informative input or generic demand from you guys regarding cameras. To get you started, Here're some questions:

  • When you are towing a trailer, what do you want to monitor and why?
  • How do you like to mount cameras?
  • What do you concern the most when mounting the cam?
Any other information is appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

It depends on the trailer. With my cargo trailer I would love to see behind it, my landscape trailer I would like a better view of the cargo.

Come up with a hard mount for the U.S. ranger Raptors? That was why I went with a different dash cam this time because there was no mount for it. I dont like strapping it to my stock mirror. It looks hacky

Would like to constantly monitor the area behind my travel trailer while towing so it would make it easier and safer for lane changes in traffic.

It looks like someone is now making a hard mount for the RR: https://www.tackform.com/products/ford-ranger-phone-mount-dash-bracket-slim-track-tr39

One of their image looks like the Wolfbox rear "mirror" is attached to the mount in the RR:

There's also a Ranger 6G thread on it here: https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/sneak-peek-of-the-new-mount-from-tackform.18464/page-3.

Yeah no thanks. I mean one in the existing position. That looks like garbage... I had a wolfbox in my Bronco Badlands and the hard mount made it awesome and clean looking.

A big question would be would this camera be wired or wireless with power tapped from somewhere on the trailer? With wired all the way it would probably be more reliable and not too hard to install if the cable could run under the trailer, then there would have to be some sort of weatherproof connection for the video signal and the power.

If wireless, what would be the range and dependability of the signal? Would there need to be antennas? I haven't looked at any wireless ones lately but I know many of the early ones were problematic.

Normally the best location for a trailer camera is at the rear top center.

It would be used for watching traffic behind and to the sides and/or for backing up. I would say backing up is the priority for me, I've pulled trailers using the side mirrors on the tow vehicle plenty with no issues, don't really need a rear camera to watch traffic but when backing up without a helper it's easy enough to back into something.

We have OEM look mount. You don't have to strap it over the factory mirror. If you send the stock mirror mount to [email protected], the support center will help you choose.

Great input! Thanks!
