On a long distance drive NorCal to Western MT in 2025 2.7L Lariat, with moderate load . . . route has flat-ish ~100mi 2-Lane stretch @ ~60mph. Got 33.5mpg over 60mi. Unbelievable!!!
Rest of trip, 70-80mph. Got just shy of 24mpg. Very good!😊

Nice! I got 26.6 indicated mpg on a mountain driving trip from Boulder to Crested Butte and back. Hand calc came out to 25.4 mpg. The 2.7 can be incredibly efficient or thirsty depending on conditions and how you drive it.

Thanks all for the encouragement. Thought I must have had a strong tailwind, but little wind today. I guess the light foot pays off on mpg (and citations - LOTS of speed checks in southern ID today!!)

I have a long route on 641 all through Tennessee that I have to drive. The speed limit is 55. I get 31.4 mpg when I drive that route at 55 mph

Peak MPG in my opinion would be a 50-55mph freeway in ECO mode. I genuinely believe the 2.7L can get over 30mpg consistently if allowed to stay at speed.

I have an XLT no load, no racks, 33 inch Goodyear duratracks… I get like 17mph @ all times. Most I’ve ever got was going to Shenandoah natl park like 2 hr drive 20.9 MPG :frown:

Another fantastic outing for the 2.7, this engine loves mountain road trips. I did not go easy on it this time. Still filled with 91 octane, kept in eco mode for the entire trip and truck is stock with tonneau cover. Mostly paved two lane highway except for 34 miles of dirt road. Ran about 10mph over posted speed limit with frequent high speed passes. Got up to 102mph before I knew it one time, she scoots even in eco mode. My State Farm drive safe and save took a hit on this trip, haha.

After putting 35s and a lift on, plus offroading, my lifetime MPG on the 3.0 is 13.1

That being said, if I do a week of commuting and take it relatively easy, I mathed it out to ~15 MPG based on time/distance between fillups.

Really want to get the LR fuel tank for this thing, but it's not legal in CA and it hangs a full inch lower than stock.
