I was wondering what recreational fuel is, too?
The "what" was answered. The reason it's often called that is because small engines typically seen on ATVs and dirt bikes still use carburetors and tend to sit for long periods. Ethanol is murder on those fuel systems.

Here in Colorado they seell non-ethanol at Maverick gas stations but it is only 87. I have used it and it made no difference in performance or mileage... Just paid more for it.

Around here ethanol free 90 costs $.40 more per gallon than 93 with 10% ethanol. I run ethanol free 90 in my lawnmower and snow blower, but I run 93 in my Ranger Raptor and Grand National.

Same here in NV. Maverick is it and it's same price as their Premium (91). I run it in my generators and my 05 TJ Wrangler.

I haven't seen non-ethanol anywhere else.

Just curious if anyone is using 90 octane Unleaded "Ethanol Free" gas?
I don't see it very often at the pumps.
Any advantage/disadvantage?
From AI

Ethanol-free gasoline has about 3% to 4% more energy per gallon than a 10% ethanol (E10) blend, meaning pure gas provides slightly more energy per combustion cycle. However, the 10% ethanol blend has a slightly higher octane rating, which can help cool the combustion chamber and resist engine knock

Real-World Differences
    • Power Output: The difference in peak power between E10 and ethanol-free fuel is negligible in everyday vehicles. [1]
    • Fuel Economy: You get slightly better mileage (about 2% to 3% more range) on ethanol-free gasoline because of the higher energy density. [1, 2]
    • Small Engines: Opinions on r/gmcsierra are mixed for daily drivers, but for small engines (boats, lawnmowers), users and experts agree that ethanol-free is better because it resists moisture absorption and prevents corrosion

Uhhh, I believe there is an unwritten rule that if you talk about your Grand National you have to post a pic of your Grand National!

We get 88 non-e fuel were I live. I use it for all small motors , lawn tractors, etc. Also for 2 stroke mix! I use 91 (10% Ethanol) in the RR.
