Unmatched running board color

I noticed a minor issue on my Ranger Raptor and I was curious if anyone else has experienced this on theirs.

It appears the running board coatings (compared LH to RH) are discolored or have an unmatched color coating.

It is very slight but one seems to be more black than the other.

Haven't noticed a difference in color but I do have spatter on my driver’s side. Haven’t decided if I want to pursue a replacement as it’s not too noticeable unless you’re looking for it.

I get it. I probably will just live with it but I did notice a finish / coating tracking barcode on the underside of the running boards. It’s hard to accept any imperfections but it’s such a fun truck to drive.

Yeah, my eyes aren’t that sharp, but it looks like two totally different colors to me.

Those trucks are way too nice to have something that looks like that; trust me, it will ALWAYS bother you!
Give FORD a call and have them swap out the running boards for two that match! ;-)

Mine looked a little different, I paint matched mine to fender flare color.

Mine are slightly mismatched, I had to go out and look because I never noticed. Live with it, in a year they will both be beat up and stained. You cannot see both at the same time unless you removed them and placed them side by side.

Good luck getting the parts, Ford appears to be having problems.

You’re probably right. I see it as not being worth the hassle of contacting Ford about. I have a small list of minor issues but most of the other fitment issues I’ve read about didn’t show on mine.

Had a similar issue with some N-FAB steps I bought for another truck. Replacements came in the same of being slightly mismatched. Come to find out they do not build them in pairs at the same time. One day they build one side and the next day maybe the other and pair them up in packaging. Basically there was lot to lot variances in the powder coat hue.

Anyone else ever do anything about this? Mine has the same issue and I spent a long time thinking it was just the light but now I’m realizing the drivers side looks faded as shit compared to the passenger side
