never had it on a dyno when fitted but the difference from a mass produced piggyback was impressive.
only negative from me was it was a little lean on the higher maps than I run normally and under full load my AFR warning was going off .

Can confirm about going with a JB4 instead. I had one on my A6 and their customer service was out of this world. George over there was extremely patient with me dialing in my Map 6 on E30 over the course of a couple of months

From everything I see that's the issue with these trucks. Not enough fuel to keep up. Most flashes only add 3lbs of boost but add a ton of timing and fuel. Piggybacks can't really adjust fueling outside of short term and long term trims via data manipulation.

It is an issue but it’s not just these trucks , all stock turbo vehicles run injectors just large enough to cope and fuel pressure behind them also at just enough pressure.
I’m experimenting at the moment with fueling , larger injectors and higher fuel pressures to try and max out the stock turbos to see what they can actually achieve.
I’ve just upgraded the fuel system in my escort which now runs a surge tank alongside the main tank with a low pressure pump to feed the surge tank then 2 big Bosch 44 high pressure pumps to feed the fuel line .
it also runs a high pressure fuel pressure regulator and now 1200cc injectors.
im happy with that set up and I doubt the raptor will ever need it to this degree but a scaled down set up is on the cards.

Been seriously debating on going the JB4 route. Ive had them on 3 vehicles in the past with no issues and only smiles.

Vivid Racing has been producing the VR Tuner for more than a decade. I’ve run one on a GLA45 AMG and an Audi TTRS and wasn’t made in Germany by DTS or Race Chips.

JB4 is a piggyback tuner just like the are generic for several models, for one tuner. Not specific to one model. Both are nothing but “sensor foolers.“

However, the JB4 is more expensive and utilizes the same tuner for the 2.3L. It’s no better or worse than the VR Tuner.
