I am looking to upgrade from a polymer helper springs to air bags for my 2025 Ranger XL.
I am having a hard time finding a reasonably priced DIY kit, what I find is either sold as pro installation only or only for 2019-2023 Rangers. What are folks using?
That's strange, I put on the firestone air ride bags with airlift cradles.
They have worked great for me (2024 fx4). The only problem with the bags was the bolts for the axle mount were two short, so I had to go buy longer ones.
Lots of suspension and brakes type of stuff are marked professional installation. Probably to protect them from DIY clueless people installing stuff wrong.
Doesn't mean you can't install it yourself. Aux airbags are very straightforward.
BUT, if you aren't certain of your abilities and tools, you might be better off paying for installation.
For example I've installed suspension lifts, aux air bags, 5th wheel hitches, bigger brakes - lots of stuff. But I've always paid to have axle gears/lockers etc installed. Setting up a diff properly is an art....
