Service intervals are written by Ford corporate withe main idea isn't longevity, they just need to get it out of the warranty period. Their goal is to show the EPA and government climate watchdogs how little waste there is and low cost of maintenance. Even dealerships will knowingly deviate from these intervals knowing it is not the best for their customers. Whenever in doubt, follow the severe duty intervals regardless how you drive , that is what's best for your vehicle.
Hey beaudointl first happy Thanksgiving, now I'm wondering how often to change my rear axle oil (rear deferential) ,I have 8800 miles on my pickup, maybe every 30k miles ,no mud or dirt miles your thoughts !!! Thanks

I change my transmission fluid on all my vehicles at around 30-40K. And my rear differential around the same time. I dropped my fluid on my rear RDU at 25k on my Maverick Tremor. Being that I use both trucks on the beach I am careful about driveline maintenance. I haven't reached that mileage yet for my Ranger.

Yes, a 30k mile interval will keep those gear drives happy. If you prefer a 50k interval, at least do the first one early to drain out the break in contaminates and particulates. Cheers and happy Thanksgiving to you.

Great info.
‘Very Intersting just how many dealer service departments will try tell people to change some of those fluids at 30, 40, 50k etc, knowing the mfg recommends something entirely different.
