I have the SiriusXM internet plan, phone and computer app streaming only. Which also means when I climb into the truck and my phone connects up on Android Auto....I have Sirius in the truck without paying for the cal based subscription.

2 days before my $2 for 3 months ran out I got on Sirius chat via their website and told them to cancel my sub. I was then offered $6 a month for 12 months including access to ALL channels. YMMV. Whats nice is I get in on my phone too with the APP.
This. Every year they raise the price, I call to cancel, I get family plan with multiple cars for renewed 'special' rate of $11/mo or so.

I really enjoy Sirius mainly to listen to live sports and the integration into infotainment. I get notifications of my fav teams and switch to the station. Been a subscriber since 2008

I have a lifetime subscription that I bought back in 2004 for $399.99, I just call and pay a $30 transfer fee to move it to the next radio when I swap out vehicles. It includes online streaming access, so my wife uses the app on her phone in her Edge.

How many of us renew the SiriusXM subscription?

I've never been a fan of satellite radio for a couple of reasons, but I don't exactly hate it either. I've historically felt that money is better spent for streaming music services that I can access and enjoy elsewhere, and the quality of the streams on SiriusXM is mediocre at best. For example, I've paid for Tidal and listen to it on my phone, in my car through carplay, at home through my Sonos speakers, or in my listening room through Roon and a dac.

With that said, I've actually been listening to a few of the Sirius stations in my ranger because it's convenient to have the stations in my radio presets, instead of going into carplay, launching tidal or apple music apps, and going from there. But to me it still sounds like I'm listening to low quality mp3's, but c'est la vie.

So as my free subscription will soon end I'm finding the marketing spam emails are increasing in frequency. I'm curious how many of us pay for SiriusXM? Of those who subscribe, are there perpetually "deals" to make it worth it? I've seen I think $2/mo for 3 months followed by $10/mo auto renew. Or maybe $5/mo for a year followed by auto-renew of $25/mo for all of their options. To me, $10/mo for their music isn't worth it, $2/mo is a no-brainer, $5/mo is a solid "maybe", but only until the promo runs out.
I say ABSOLUTELY renew. I've had it for over 21 years, and I'd cancel my tv subscription before my Siriusxm. Think of it this way: When cable tv came out it was NEVER $10-15 a month even in the mid-eighty's. Personally it is thee best value out there.

I do a lot of long distance driving in my Ranger, and I love Sirius. It is really good for tuning into sports events all around the country.

When my trial ended I was offered $4 a month for a year. I also have it on my phone which is nice. And, yes be sure to cancel prior to the subscription ends or you get charged full price.

As of today, I've put almost 3700 miles on my truck since I brought it home 5 months ago which includes an 1100 mile roundtrip road trip. I'm retired so my commuting days are very much over. Point being is that I'm not driving my truck routinely like a normal human being would. :) Additionally, I don't see myself taking frequent long drives, hence, I don't believe that a subscription to satellite radio regardless of the cost is justifiable for my situation. What I do have though is a music catalog of over 12,000+ songs from my compact disc days which I've converted to mp3's and have downloaded to my phone. I use a program and app called mediamonkey on both my PC and phone respectively. The program allows me to sync songs and playlists between the devices. So if there's a change to one device, it sync's it to the other. My 1100 mile trip was just last week and coincidentally, SiriusXM had a free to listen promo from 5/28 - 6/2 so I listened to SiriusXM outbound. The promo ended for my return trip home so I reverted back to listening to a 758 song playlist that I created for long drives. According to the program, the playlist is 49.5 hours long. My return trip took 8.5 hours. I'm not going to get to the end of this playlist any time soon. And with Android Auto, I sort of have some integration with the infotainment system.

That said, being able to listen to live content without fear of losing the signal as you traverse over long distances is a nice feature.

theGnat, I agree with you that if the Ranger wasn't my daily driver I probably wouldn't have a subscription. I also have a 50th Anniversary Bullitt which is only driven in warm weather months. With the Bullitt I use a flash drive with music downloaded. Actually, I have a few, each with a different genre. I did that to please a couple of favorite passengers.

You're too nice and accommodating! When I'm the driver, it's "I'm the captain, so my rules, my tunes!" Fortunately, I can tolerate, at times, music not in my general interest and I'll let passengers have their moments with the exception of my wife. For some reason, she doesn't understand (or perhaps doesn't care to understand) the I'm the captain, my rules, my tunes concept bc she'll at times blurt out, "can we listen to something else?".🤔 When she's with me on short trips like errands, etc., I'm a little bit more forgiving of the "complaining", but on longer drives, I'll let her know that she can relax and take her nap and I'll let her know if I need her for any copilot duties.

I'm a millennial born on the cusp of gen z. Sirius XM never appealed to me because I can play whatever I want on my phone. Sirius XM will not stop calling me; every day I get a call with them asking me to renew once the trial ends. I haven't picked up a single phone call from them because I already have everything I'd ever want through Spotify.

Sounds like we're similar age, but SiriusXM's reception still comes in great in many places that my phone data connection doesn't work at all, making apps like spotify/youtube/tidal/nugs unusable in those locations. That's why I find SXM useful to have when I can't access streaming apps.

I guess if you rarely leave urban areas it's not a problem..but if you're offroading or camping in rural/remote areas it makes a lot more sense.

I let mine expire as I use Spotify and get the exact genre of music I like. But I did recently receive I promotion offering 1yr @ $4/month and then some ridiculous price after that. Let it expire. They will definitely send you some offer and then just cancel the offer before their regular rates kick in

Yeah I hear you on that. I am for sure in more urban areas most of the time. When I do go camping or to more rural areas in my state I just download my Spotify playlists so I can listen offline. Same with how I don't want to use the crappy plane Wi-Fi when flying 😂

ya'll got some good deals!! I don't remember what discount we got. I already had the app so I never activated the trial. Will keep a note for when our contract renews. I like just using the app so can take the channels everywhere I go, the beach, backyard, kids games.
