I think I've given up on getting a Tremor (not available) or Raptor (just can't justify), wife and I both really like the Lariat 2.7 V6 with FX4 package.
We're debating the BAP and wondering what the opinions are regarding having painted wheel lip moldings on the BAP vs the black unpainted standard for tires throwing up rocks and getting chips. Really prefer the black front skid, body matched front end and black wheels of the BAP, but I feel like it should have black wheel lip moldings too.
Thoughts?

I have the 2025 Lariat FX4 V6 on order with the BAP. I would have preferred the black wheel lips as well, but I’ll probably end up adding larger flares down the road that would be matte black. i suppose you could remove the paint matched moldings an then plasti dip or paint them?

I was thinking the same as you, perhaps replacing the wheel lips with something just slightly larger like I did on my F150. Nothing huge and gaudy, just enough to help stop the tires from throwing up rock chips once I removed my running board and install AMP PowerSteps.

Do the non-BAP versions have black unpainted wheel lip moldings for MY 2025? On every (2024 Canadian) XLT or Lariat Ranger that I've seen in person, the wheel lip moldings are painted magnetic grey, the same as the front grill and bumper. This was part of the standard Sport Appearance Package in 2024 but I am not sure about 2025 models.

Sport Appearance Package (2024, Canada)
Included
Included on LARIAT models. Not available with Chrome Appearance Package.
Includes:
• Grille – Black Mesh with Magnetic Painted Surround and Gray Bars
• 18” Machined Aluminum Wheel with Dark Pockets (comes with 255/65R18 All Terrain BSW tire)
• Wheellip Molding, Magnetic Painted
• Gray Painted Front Fascia and Rear Bumper
• Sport Box Decal (not available with FX4 Off-Road Package)

Sport Appearance Package (2025, USA & Canada)
Included
Standard on XLT and LARIAT®. Includes:
• 17” Gray Painted Wheels – XLT Only
• 18” Machined Aluminum Wheels with Dark Pockets – LARIAT® Only
• Grille – Gray Painted Center Bar and Surround • Gray Painted Front Fascia and Rear Bumper
• Sport Box Decal (not available with FX4® Off-Road Package 4x4 only)
Not available with: • Chrome Accent Package • Black Appearance Package

Black Appearance Package (2025, USA & Canada)
Available on XLT and LARIAT®. Includes:
• 18” Black Wheels
• Black Ford Ovals (Front/Rear)
• Black Rear Bumper
• Body-Color Painted Front Fascia with Black Painted Lower Valance
• Grille – Black Center Bar and Surround
• Wheellip Molding – Painted Body-Color
• Unique Carpet Mats (not mentioned for Canada)
Not Available with: • Chrome Accent Package • Sport Appearance Package

Personally, I never understood why the Sport Package has a non-body color grill, bumpers and wheel lip moldings as that is the exact opposite of sporty. A sport appearance package should always have everything body colored and leave the two-tone look for the standard or "old man" trim levels.

I also think it is terrible if Ford went to unpainted plastic wheel lip moldings for 2025, especially on a Lariat trim. They look incredibly cheap (like the plastic door handles on an XLT) and I would not pay $45K+ for a truck with Tupperware door handles and wheel lips.

Thankfully, the Black Appearance Package solves most of the issues for me and I will definitely order the BAP if I purchase a Ranger Lariat.

The standard lariat wheels are ugly. The xlt wheels are much nicer looking. I'd get the black appearance package if I wanted a lariat. Seen a guy on here powder coat his standard lariat wheels, they looked a lot better afterwards.

@Kevindust - yes, it appears to me the non-BAP trim levels all have the black unpainted wheel lip moldings, at least from what I've seen using the "build & price" tool.
My reasoning on preferring the black WLM on BAP/FX4 packages is that the scuffs & pin striping from going on narrow trails will come off easier than on painted ones.

@RaptorBlue - right there with ya, IMO the standard Lariat wheels aren't to my liking either, so BAP it is.

I just got my production date email for the week of February 24th. That said I can check order status now on ford.com, and I found this picture of the BAP wheel that's the best photo I've seen so far.

Did you get a part number for that rim? I’ve been looking and can’t turn up anything

Unfortunately no. That’s just the picture that comes up under the link in the description of my build.
