… I bought a 2017 mustang with the V6. It had 90% of the things I wanted or needed. I loved the car. Six months later, I wished I had bought the GT, bigger engine and better suspension.

Lesson learned from having bought what I need versus what I want. I went with the Lariat. I had a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that I greatly modified and sold for the Ranger. That taught me what I didn’t need, otherwise I would have bought the Raptor. The Lariat is the right choice for me and with 4,400mi on it, I love this truck.

The leather and upgrade seats are a huge upgrade for me. I hate the Ford cloth seats. I had them on my F-150 and regretted it every single day. I also hate using a key, I just don’t understand what a ford was thinking here. The larger display is also so much better not to mention the sound system. When I read these posts, they just smack of people who wish they had gone with the lariat but are trying to console themselves. There are simply too many benefits of the Lariat over the XLT. Even the shifter in the 2024 is a better option. The price is worth it.
I would never ever have leather seats without the ventilated seat option and the lariat doesn’t even come with auto 4wd, come on Ford

just did a 5k review of my xlt: was once in the same place you were trying to figure out what was so important that i spend the extra money; One thing you didnt mention is that the lariat has heated mirrors. If i lived much farther north this may have been a not easily noticed game changer for some...

I went XLT because I liked the options at the price point. Didn’t even look at a Lariat. I do miss push button start as my past vehicles have had it and now getting used to a key again. Didn’t even realize some of the the things the Lariat has over the XLT until finding this thread lol. I’m happy with my XLT though

The '25 Lariat doesn't have heated mirrors, at least mine doesn't.

My F-150 had heated mirrors that came on when the rear window defroster was turned on. There was no separate control for them.
