I have a 2025 (July build) XLT FX4 with 301A "XLT high," and advanced tow/tech packages. I should have the 12" center display (screen measures just over 11" though) which is what Ford says is included with the 301A? The downloaded and in truck owners manuals shows there are different instrument cluster options for the 8" and 12" center displays, which is odd because the XL has a 10" so there's no 8". My instrument display is what the OM says is for the 8" with the vertical tach, not the round tach and the other gauges that are with the 12" which I have (right?) and paid for (I think?). I'm confused.

I have a similar truck. The 12-inch upgrade is only for the center display and does not include an upgrade to the instrument cluster. To get the other instrument cluster, you need to upgrade to the Lariat or the Raptor. I believe some people have updated it on their own, but it seemed like a lot of work/expense, although the updated instrument cluster does look better.

That's not what the OM says, so is the Lariat instrument cluster wider? I can't tell by pictures. I also have to think there should be some software upgrades for more options. It's just a computer screen...

The 8 inch and 12 inch are the driver displays (instrument console). The 10 inch and 12 inch are the center stack displays. The 12 inch driver display is in the lariat and raptor. The 8 inch in the XLT is only the screen in the middle. The two gauges on either side are not part of the digital screen.
I wish there were more gauge configs for the 8 inch. It shows a lot of info, but looks kind of lame.
I have an XLT FX4 as well, with the 301A high, so i have the same displays.

This is the correct answer. With some tweaking, what we got is good enough. I have it set to show the speed and music playing. What else I need I can just cycle through. Yes, it would be nice to have the lariat screen but who cares. Not worth the package upgrade.

I think you got a great truck!

Thanks, I see that now but they don't make it easy to understand. Love the truck but I hate the gas gauge too. Agreed it's not worth the Lariat upgrade price. Hopefully someone will develop an easier fix.
