lol ok. They prefer to keep it posted because they love all the calls and interest they get from it being posted. Why would a dealer be against getting calls for a vehicle?
I just don’t believe that.
The dealers control their own websites, they aren’t controlled by Ford Motor company
Furthermore, my Raptor has been in production for 3 days now. It’s not showing up on my dealers website, been having the Vin and order since December.
Actually as a techy person myself… I think it’s more of they can remove the new vehicles but they can’t post new vehicles…. So pretty much if they remove it.. then they would not be able to post it back up if the guy who has the allocation for that vehicle decides to back out in the last minute of the deal… so I think it would be more of a double edged sword to go ahead and remove the listing off their website

If that were true, how could any dealership ever post a used car for sale?
Send it into Ford and ask them to post it for them? Ya right!

As stated before, Ford offers API integration. Not all dealers utilize it, but even the ones that do can still manually add/remove listings from their own site.
When they tell you that “they can’t remove it” they really should be telling you “I don’t have the ability to remove it, and my sales manager that does have the ability is choosing to leave it listed.”

Re-read what I said… I only mentioned NEW vehicles.. I never said anything about used vehicles.. I think Used vehicles are a different story.. they can probably post vehicles but it will all go to the Used category… where anything that’s NEW comes from Fords API only.

Ok. What about CPO cars then?
New vehicle swaps with other dealers?

I am not 100% for sure… maybe there is a process on Fords side that can allow this… again I am only speculating… again I to don’t like this system but if all my dealers tell me the same thing then it’s bound to be possible that what they say is true on the matter that the dealership is restricted from posting anything on the NEW category without going through Fords Systems

I’m betting that if you speak to an actual sales manager then you’d get the real truth.
99% of dealership deals are done by the desk these days. The salesman have hardly any negotiating power. All decided by the sales manager.

You speak as though I haven't when its the sales managers that I worked with when I ordered my RRs from them... When I was at Planet ford... I when to the New Cars Sales Manager and asked where to start and he sent me to one of the sales guys that does the custom orders... I also asked a few times to that same Manager and he said he can't remove or change the RR thats on their website thats been showing "In Transit" status since October.. Link of the truck is below...

https://www.randallreedsplanetford....4618/2024--Ford--Ranger--Truck----Humble--TX/

As for when I canceled my Order with this dealer and moved my Order to my Local dealer (The guy ahead of me at my local dealer pulled out of his guaranty allocation and I was next in line... PLUS they have a 5k mark up and not a 10k mark up like Planet Ford has) I worked directly with the Sales Manager himself inside the restricted Room that customers are not allowed in without permission... Similar things where said when I asked as I was curious,

I find it funny people argue something so vehemently based on their own opinion and not fact or even knowledge.

Fun fact, the reason you can go to ford.com and build/price then find trucks that match or are similar from all ford dealers, is because it all comes from the same system...

The very fact that you pulled out of the deal at that dealership should answer why you were told “we can’t pull it off the website”. The sales manager didn’t have confidence you were going to follow through therefore wanted to start a wait list of people to take your spot.

My dealer who I’ve bought my last 5 Ford’s from pulled my RR down from their site the very day that it was automatically posted because of their website integration. Hasn’t appeared back on their site since.

See here is the funny thing.. YOU are jumping to conclusions where you did not understand my Decision process on the order.... FIRST My dealer where I am at now... is ALOT smaller than Planet Ford is... PLanet Ford is one of the Largest Ford dealerships in the Houston area... They can get More trucks and possible more allocations that my Local smaller dealership... I did Not think the guy ahead of me at my small dealership would pull out.... SOOO what I did was I kept myself in their books (because I would rather get my truck from them if I had to choose plainly because it is with people I can trust and I worked with in the past)... But at the same time with the Limited allocation of the truck... I would of figured if I stayed with my local dealership then I would not get it till sometime LATER NEXT year..... SOOO I decided to go to Planet Ford.... They told me at the time they had 4 Allocations with 3 already Taken.. there was one more... SOO I yeah you know what lets try this.... So I put in the order and they booked me up WITHOUT a deposit... Afterwords I was Talking to @Craneop1972 where I found out that ALL dealers only get 1 Allocation... So I was like ok FINE.. its cool.. I am in NO rush to get the truck ASAP.. I leave my order as stand... and IF another allocation hits my Local dealership then I go back and cancel my order If I did not get a production date or if the truck as not been shipped yet.... with 3 other orders ahead of me.. I found it possible that My Order would be like I wanted it to be where it come in closer to the end of the year. But Now as of last Month... My Dealers 1st Allocation opened up and they where able to work me on a BETTER deal with a lesser Mark up than what PLanet Ford had... AND there had not been a production date yet... so BECAUSE they gave me a better deal then what I would get with Planet Ford... AND they would WORKED with me to try to get the truck later and not as Fast as possible.. and even gave me a full Prcie breakdown with the Mark up and TTL.. I felt confident to put in my $1k deposit on the truck.. and worked out a Plan to still get the truck and work on getting the monthly cost DOWN to where I want it by March or April Next year.... SOO This is what made me decide to go with them and cancel my order with Planet Ford... If none of this happened... I would still be with Planet Ford to this date.

Maybe we should all go back to talking about how much the UAW sucks. There would be less arguing.

Regardless... This Union has been in placed into the work force for a LONG time and there is really nothing that can seperate them.... I was frustrated as well with how things where.. .. But happily we can move on now that its over for the next several years.
