Of course. That’s why I’m going with a Afe. All of that is dyno tested as is fp is. Only difference is I will have 3 different settings on top of normal sport Baja ??
As noted earlier new to the RR community; jus took delivery ~2wks ago.
.
My Scorcher kit arrives this Wed...aside from the back-n-forth regarding FP selection, wondering if should delay install.
Since only ~200 mls since delivery, maybe await ~1K mls [so-called break-in] be more prudent?
Then there's always the choice of install, run only the aFe 'stock map' for a bit...planning install next weekend.

Thatsaid, well versed owning higher performance aftermarket/tuned vehicles
[BMW M owner/enthusiast for many yrs; eight of 'em, one track dedicated].

Given your BMW performance pedigree, you should have known all about Burger Motorsports and the benefits of their JB4 vs other piggyback modules.
Personally I would have gone with the FP calibration. It does so much more than just add boost and fuel.
Also consider going with one heat range colder plugs. The stock plugs might not be happy with the extra boost.

Send it! Lol. Run it on stock for the first 1k. But I didn’t really do a break in period. I feel like I’m not gonna baby the truck then just open it up.

The argument that the FP tune is worse than this boost scaling module "becauz it has modes!" is probably the funniest way I have ever seen somebody rationalize their purchase.

For all others, just buy the damn factory tune. None of these piggybacks (even Jb4 included) will come close to the power and refinement you get with an actual flash.

Yup, after some research. Piggy backs aren't worth it. I'm in CA and trying to avoid the stupid states carb bs.

BTW Liernois has a tune for RR on their page now. Used them in my 2019 with plenty of smiles.

No argument just my opinion. And for someone who does dynos for a living. Nothing is touching the jb4 out there. So do your homework before commenting.

I don’t see any dyno chart for liernois. Curious to see what it’s putting out. Hopefully it’s not like process west and putting things out there without backing there work

They probably just added to their website. They are a legit company. Ford and other use them as service also. Just wait.

The JB4 Is a sensor fooler, just like every other piggyback. They have a fuel wire setup but it’s all external sensor control.

Additionally, it’s not a model specific piggyback tuner, but a a multi-model piggyback tuner, that doesn’t and can’t address any of the internal ECU control functions over torque or boost limiters within the ECU/TCU.

A piggyback, provides nothing for the TCU, to take advantage of higher shift points or converter pressure required. Something a bench tune can, along with adding literally hundreds of additional fuel tables sequencing, boost and torque raising or elimination, and top-end limiter.

The JB4 is strictly limited to nothing but sensor input/output. To say; nothing can touch it, simply demonstrates an overall lack of
understanding and knowledge regarding ECU/TCU tuning. ECU/TCU bench and flash tuning, is far superior to any piggyback tuner, always has been.

An ECU/TCU tune provides direct, complete, control over the system resources, where piggybacks are designed to work in conjunction with factory sensors and do not offer any tuning changes other than timing, rev limiters, fuel cut-off.

Additionally, a piggyback cannot address; top-end limiter, transmission shift sequence timing or fuel trim tables to take advantage of the additional power development, beyond the OEM tune capacity.

This is the short of it. You’re fooling yourself believing a piggyback like the JB4, is a more efficient and better hp producer than bench, Dyno or flash ECU/Tune.

These ^ are the just a few of the advantages and facts surrounding both. I suggest you to do your diligence and research understanding the specific benefits and advantages of an ECU/TCU over piggyback tuning.???

FP tune is superior to JB4 in what all modifications that are made and shifting table changes done in the ECU .

The flash vs Piggyback debate is as old as time :) Time to grab your lunchbox little one it’s time for school. (No idea what the pointing that I’m American means but here go) let me get back to tuning this 1100rwhp Shelbey now.
