Hey yall. I purchased this truck just a month ago and noticed after purchase there is a vibration/shudder from a stop until shifts into second. Thought it just needed to learn and would resolve but hasn’t improved. I’ve read this was issue with the 5G but haven’t seen anything with these 6G posted yet. Any ideas?

I felt the same in my 2.3 XLT. It was very slight and I thought it might be driveline angle related. My dealer spent some time with it, compared it to others on their lot and deemed it normal. In fact, they claimed it was better than others they tested.

If it bothers you, have the dealer check it out, if nothing else to give you peace of mind.

I also feel that the transmission hangs on to torque converter lockup too long, causing the engine to lug on light acceleration. I took care of that by installing a Roar Pedal performance throttle controller. After thinking this through, I believe a change to the transmission calibration would propably correct all of these issues. I told my service manager that I will be on the lookout for bulletins addressing this in the future.

Something to think about: the Ford Performance Procal tuner might also help. I heard that the changes included new transmission mapping. Can anyone confirm that?

Edit: I added some other thoughts to my original reply.

Thank you for replying. I’d say mine is not very significant either; very mild. It’s funny you mentioned the tuning. I had the dealer install the Ford Performance procal but have been hyper miling in eco mode to see what I’d average. I’m now guessing without definitive proof that the procal tune solely affects the normal setting. Today I left it in normal and can barely notice the shuddering.

Im now reconsidering even taking it in to be looked over. Wouldn’t want the dealer shimming or tinkering with it and it getting worse or some new issue occurring. Thanks again
