Maybe I'm going crazy but can't figure out why my lane keep assist as well pre collision buttons don't t work. The manual says push the buttons on the left side steering wheel. Well nothing indicates when pushed. Like the buttons are dead. However. If I push the cruise control button first then both the lane keep assist and pre collision buttons indicate? Am I doing something wrong or this normal or do I have issues?

I would think that the first issue is the "pre collision button" as there is no such thing. I suspect you're talking about the adaptive cruise gap setting button, which only affects adaptive cruise control and can only be set when adaptive cruise control is active. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/...A&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=False&buildtype=web
Correct sorry about that. And yes I can only use those two buttons if m hit the cruise control first. I assume that's not right as you should be able to use lane assistance on its own by hiring that button alone.

I'll have to check later today what my Ranger does. I do know that I was confused in our 2025 bronco sport with regard to lane keep assist (not lane centering assist which is specific to adaptive cruise control) because I had it enabled in the menu system, but in the 2025 model year it still has to be enabled by the button on the steering wheel that the owners manual calls the lane centering assist button (the lane centering icon is the same as lane keep assist but it has a steering wheel in between the lane lines).

Thanks. Yes the instructions are horrible. Appreciate it.

The pre-collision assist can be turned on or off in the Driver Assistance menu; when enabled I don’t see any icon in the dash, but when disabled an icon appears to let you know it’s disabled.

And the lane keep button on my steering wheel does indeed toggle the lane-keep assist on and off (I was sitting still in Park, so adaptive cruise was not enabled at the time). Toggling it on makes an icon appear.

Same here. Different trim level. Larger 10 vs 8 screen.

I'm thinking I disconnect the battery and see if it all resets? Is the the cleanest way to reset everything?

I’m sure this is a dumb question, but you do have the tech package in your xlt, right? If you have adaptive cruise I’m guessing you have the tech package but I’m not as familiar with the xlt options
