Ford recalls 312,000 vehicles over brake failure risk

The recall affects certain 2025 Lincoln Navigator, F-150, Expedition, Bronco, and Ranger vehicles, including:

• 2025 Ford F-150: 217,969 units built between May 8, 2024, and June 9, 2025
• 2025 Ford Bronco: 39,913 units built from May 31, 2024, to June 17, 2025
• 2025 Ford Expedition: 26,582 units built from Nov. 8, 2023, to June 9, 2025
• 2025 Ford Ranger: 20,522 units built from Feb. 5, 2024, to June 20, 2025
• 2025 Lincoln Navigator: 7,104 units built from Nov. 9, 2023, to June 9, 2025

That's a pretty broad range . You would think one built in Feb 2024 would be a 2024 model. Heck even up to Sept should be a 2024 model.

Mine was built 6/28/24. If it's simply a software upgrade, mine could be upgraded right away.

Maybe there's confusion on the date for the Ranger?

Yes mine was built Feb 24th so technically I fall under that too but mines a 2024 not a 2025. I think it has more to do with the new brake booster not the one we have.

I was at the dealer this morning for trans fluid, and oil change and no mention of anything when they plugged in the vin.

Mines a 24 with the good ol vacuum booster.

And i decided to check the ford recall page and i am good. The brake booster recall in the electronic ones though, the rangerstation.com has a way more indepth write up on the recalls for the rangers between 24 and 25

I contacted Ford. My 2025 RR was built during that timeframe but my vin is not on the recall.

Ford seems extremely lackadaisical about fixing a known brake problem. Aug 11 will let the Dealers know. Aug 25 will send letters out

I didn’t see the last part of the info. They probably didn’t see anything because it’s not available yet. Guess I’ll find out at the end of the month.

I wonder how much of thst is due to the NHTSB paperwork. And presumably there is some testing done on the fix.

and from reading the linked recall report it seems very rare.

I guess I’ll see if at the end of august whether my vehicle is impacted.

A build date of =February 2024 and they call that a 2025? LMFAO
My 2024 Ranger was built in November 2024 and I know of several that were December builds.
I think they made a typo on those dates!

Mine falls within this date range, but the lookup sites indicate no recalls for my VIN. That said, I've experienced some hard pedal feel and couldn't for the life of me figure out why. Perhaps this has something to do with it. It seems to mimic brake feel with non-power break setups. Time to give the ol stealership a call I guess.
