I wonder if we could just install an OEM standard ranger plug thru the bumper ( since it has to be cut anyway) or a factory replacement for a standard ranger like this:

I would guess the reason the plug is in a different location on the Raptor in the US is due to some sort of silly regulation/rule about the proximity of the wiring to the spare tire. With the Raptor having a 33" spare, the tire gets super close to where the wiring comes through the bumper and you don't have that issue on the other models.

That was our guess as well. The other consideration is that the Ranger Raptor uses the Watts Link on the rear axle, providing even less space for the spare tire below the bed, pushing it further rearward.

Why would that make a difference I had a RAM Rebel with the bigger tires and the plug came out in exact same spot as the other Ranger models.
I just think it was a hiccup on Ford's part for the new 2024 model as people are suggesting the 2025 model has it there.

i bet they didn't really think many people would be using the ranger raptor as a tow vehicle so they initially weren't planning on installing that stuff
