Rrrrrrrrr Raptor R grille badge vs. 3D Printer

Gday mates,

Many moons ago I'd checked on getting the R that comes factory on the F150 Raptor R Grill. Back then or at least what my local dealer and I could find online told me was that I'd have to purchase the entire grill if I wanted the R.

So like many of you I purchased a 3-D printed R. I'm a little behind on this one but now you can buy just the R from Ford. Pics, part number, cost ($59), below.

Quality is what you'd expect from a factory piece. Mounting it requires a little creativity.

I wasn't gonna put one on. Held off a while, but my truck looked so plain, i thought ehhh might as well.

The R is the top performance model Raptor, and since mine is way faster, I guess they need to remove their R's

I went with the raptor badge…. I also added some 3M auto tape to make sure it doesn’t move happy with it

I tried that out as well. Put them on the side doors, didn't look to bad, but I have not done anything with them yet. Tried them sideways on the hood too by the vents.

This was made for the F-150 Grill but the clips in the back were a little too short that’s why I added the 3M tape

A Custom License plate would be better then. Maintains stealth but then lets the ones you beat know.

Considering what you've done to your RR, I think this is fair!

I put the R on my ranger since it has the procal tuner on it. Its not a regular old ranger now.

I also put a texas edition badge from an explorer since they didnt have a ranger texas badge.

I used to remove all badges.

The joys of having your own truck... doing as you please to it.

That is legit the same power as a full size Raptor R

With the amount of grunt you're packing, I think the truck deserves it's own letter.

There are high quality 3D printed ones. You just have to look carefully. If you place the r the same location as the Ford Raptor it kind of looks out of place because the grill is different. The RR is smaller and different shape. To me it looks better in this location.

I have a 3D printer and I would be ashamed to put my name on this badge, especially if I were selling it online. That rough surface is from using a textured build plate, a smooth one would result in a very smooth surface. That rough one could be sanded smooth with a lot of hand work and polished but why bother? It is sloppy work and operator error.

You also have to be very cautious when buying online, make sure the filament used can tolerate outdoor exposure (heat, UV and impacts). ABS is OK, but harder to print well. PLA has no use in this application….. Often the vendor does not say what type is used, you have to ask.
