Can anybody that has driven both give me their thoughts on how they compare? Is a Ranger Raptor worth it over an F150?

Totally different vehicles. Different size, price point, etc.

Do you want a smaller truck that has raptor capabilities. Or a behemoth sized vehicle with those capabilities and more.

I'm going with the smaller raptor, as the F150 version was just too big for my purposes. Heck, barely fit in my garage. The RRaptor is plenty capable for me and in a much more usable size.

Pretty much nobody is able to answer that due to no Rangers out yet to compare.
He’s probably comparing the crappier global market version that is out that’s made in Thailand.

Yeah I feel you. I guess the size isn't too different between an F150 and the RRaptor due to the Raptor's body kit; I bet it feels sportier than an F150 from the inside. I'm used to driving F150s for work, mostly 2.7 and 3.5 liters. But the v8 F150 is somewhat enticing for the potential to supercharge. Pretty much for 60kish, you can get a v8 XL, supercharge it and put a decent off-roading suspension. It comes close to a Raptor R for almost half the price. I just don't think a supercharged 5 liter will have as much longevity as the turbocharged v6 in the RRaptor, I've heard a lot of stories of Shelby trucks needing constant work performed in their supercharged 5.0 builds.

Could explain why he’s on here asking the question.
Have you driven an F150 before? How does it compare to your Ranger?

I guess what I was meaning in layman's terms that both are needed in a given area to be able to drive for a valid comparison.

Do I look like a fool
Ive driven both but the F150 was the ozzy spec so not sure how that compares to the US models.
F150 have been available here for a little while with the 3.5 Ecoboost generating the same power as the 3.0 Raptor .
There is only 2 models you can buy in the showroom here , the XLT with cloth seats etc for around 100k AUD or the Lariat which is a far better spec for $140k AUD .
I test drove the Lariat and was impressed how well it drove , it did not feel as big as it was .
Performance was ok but down on the Raptor with the weight difference.
4x4 ability F150 cant touch the Raptor . (not much can)
F150 can tow more .
F150 more luxurious but Raptor feels sportier and more current.
Raptor sounds better .
F150 Lariat $40k AUD more than a Raptor.
Ford will sell a few F150 in Oz as there will always be guys needing to tow 4.5 ton in luxury but Raptors are flying of the lots .
I would take the Raptor any day , the smile I get when the boot is planted is like nothing available in Australia before and you can load the back with tools.
F150 is to expensive and nothing new really.

F150. Bigger bed, more interior room, plusher interior, better ride, can tow more, bigger back seat and leg room
Ranger. Smaller, easier to park, more maneuverable, fits garage easier, shorter turn radius, feels sportier
You get a ranger to have a vehicle that is almost as nice as a f150, but is typically less money and is a size more suited for many people, especially if parking and driving it in town, or on tight trails, etc.
If towing big trailers, hauling lots of people and gear all of the time, or doing mostly hwy driving, you'll prefer the f150.
Loved my full size raptor, but was just too big for my purposes and hated trying to park it anywhere. So hoping the RRaptor will be a better fit being smaller, having most of the same capabilities as it's big brother, and at a far more affordable price, too.

How is the ROW crappier? Or are you referring to the Europe specific power reduction? There is more to the world than Europe and US :)

Less power. Poorer build quality.
Poorer spec. More expensive.

Plenty of reasons.

Less power only applies to European models. All other markets have the same power give or take a few HP.

Poor build quality? How is that even possible to judge when the Ranger Raptor just launched in the US? I have over 20k on mine, not a single rattle or anything broken so far.

Poorer spec? Like what? I have rear air vents, does yours?

More expensive: Sure, but that is just markets and taxes. Not really an issue with the vehicle.

Sounds more like preconceptions instead of facts.

I wish I knew. I've been driving a gen2 F150 Raptor for the last 7 years, but the only Ranger I've ever driven was a 1992 that owned nearly 30 years ago. I guess I won't know what it's like to drive a new Ranger until it gets here in April?
