Hello everyone and thanks for any advice given. I have read as many posts as my eyes can take, haha. Anyways I’ve read a couple of posts that have mentioned when changing the wheels offset, the truck rides rougher. I’m looking at the Roush rims or Bronco SAS rims with stock tires. Really don’t want to change the ride, just the stance. So do the Roush or Bronco SAS rims make the truck ride “rougher” or any different? Thanks again for your and advice.

Shouldn’t change much but it will change. The biggest difference will be scrub radius on the tires. This would give more feedback in the steering wheel and might make the wheel harder to turn at a standstill. Our power steering is strong enough I don’t know if you would feel it.
Technically moving the contact patch out will put more leverage on the springs and shocks. It’s such a minor change that I doubt it’s of note unless you were racing the truck.

Ok thanks everyone. That’s what I was thinking about the scrub radius. I’ve had a lot of lifted bugs trucks and this is my first ranger, loving the nice soft ride and performance. Don’t really want to mess it up, if that makes sense.

Why is +35 the sweet spot? It’s only a 5mm difference between the Bronco SAS wheels.

17x8.5 on +35mm for method wheels. Bronco is 17x9 +30. It just sits further in and effects everything less. AI could explain it better than me.

+25 to +35 is just the sweet spot for what folk consider flush poke with OEM tire spec 285/70/17.

Keep in mind the truck was released a few years internationally before the US, and some places have laws allowing zero poke, so this range is what folk have reported using without hassle from police.

If you change tire size (e.g. 35) then it's a different offset conversation that involves crash bar interference, rubbing, etc.

Ok thanks really curious on how the ride changes? Like does it wonder more on the highway, or do you feel every little bump and imperfection in the road, is the ride stiff sorta say? Stuff like that.

It’s slightly more jarring. In sport mode you notice a difference. Wanders more, but not terrible.

You’ll be fine with a 17x8.5 +25. Lower your tire pressure to 35.

Thanks for the advice, I think I’m gonna try the Roush rims. I like the stance on your truck and think those will work for me. Thanks again for your time and advice

On OEM wheels, I used to almost always drive sport suspension and sport steering. After Roush R wheels, I drive mostly regular suspension and steering.

Again, wouldn't say the change is overall good or bad, just different. Maybe glides less like a full size, with more road like a mid size. I still switch to sport suspension and steer If and when needed.

I came from 20 years with Tacomas, and the RR is vastly more comfortable, but post-wheels, it's a slightly more familiar feel.

Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.

Do you have pictures of your setup?
