It would be nice if Rock Slide Engineering would make their step sliders for the 6G Ranger/Ranger Raptor, but when I inquired roughly 6 months ago they stated they had no plans to develop any.

I'm not brave enough to spend $2500 to buy a 4 Dr Bronco pair to see if they could be adapted or modified to work.

If they receive enough inquiries they may consider changing their stance but I wouldn't bet on it, sadly.

I'm 6'2 200lbs and have just adapted to how I enter and exit my Ranger Raptor, I'm sure the fact I have a 35" inseam makes getting out a bit easier for me.

i specifically step on to the step so i can lift myself over the bolster because i don't want to tear it up. i see lots of used vehicles where the outboard bolster of he driver seat is torn and no foam, or flattened and bent out from people sliding over them.

Hey guys! This may seem like a ridiculous post. Picked up my RR today and found it quite awkward to get in and out of it, especially getting out. I definitely left some skin on the running board from my leg scraping against it while stepping out. I’m a bigger guy at 6’2 260lbs and it seems I’m somewhere in the middle of being too tall to just step down and not short enough to comfortably use the running board while stepping down.

I’d imagine I’m not the only one that’s had to figure this out. I’ve had many trucks, some were lifted, that I needed to figure out how to get in and out routinely.

Thanks in advance!

...I put a foot on the side step and step/raise up so I don't wear out the seat bolster, then stand on the side step and step down. I don't have an issue with it myself but maybe it's just that you aren't used to it?

I had a buddy that kept doing the same thing and sliding down off the seat and over the step until I showed him how to get out so he doesn't fuck the seats up.

Sometimes it takes some adjustment. I remember when I first got a Mustang it took me like a month to realize that the correct way to get in without messing up the seats was to basically fall backwards into them .

Left foot on the step first?

6'3 250 here. I have a 25 Xlt and had the same problem. I step into the truck no issues, I like the seat back. To get out I put my left leg down and step on the running board with my right leg. Truck is about 5 months old now and I get in and out all the time without even noticing any issue. Great question by the way.

Thank you for this! When you say put your left leg down, where are you putting your left leg?

I just went to the parking lot here at work to do it, so here's what I do. get out of the truck, left leg out and goes over the running board, before my left foot hits the street my right foot is on the running board and pushes me up. Your left leg may slide on the board just barley after a while you do it with out thinking.

I get it. I'm 6'4" and my wife is 5'2". She needs a step to enter while I do not. I removed the factory running boards and installed side steps. It gives my wife the boost she needs while letting me exit without hitting a running board.

Truth.

I hate ass-draggers. Nobody new gets in any of my cars without being told to lift themselves over the bolsters or hit the gym until they can.

It is not so different from getting into and out of a Sas Bronco. It does involve a bit of a duck, but that is better than trying to hop/climb in IMO.
I am 6ft.
I had the same issue with my Bronco prior to my RR.
The Bronco was tall enough that taking them off and jumping up into it was not ideal, so I did power steps for the Bronco. With the RR I can step right in without a step at all, I just hate that it sacrificed the body protection of the OEM steps on the RR.
