My 2023 RAM 2500 from NC was newSince you could not inspect some of those vehicles when you made the deal, what do you do if they showed up at your door with unacceptable imperfections or even some damage? Or were they new? With Carmax or at a dealer at least you can see and drive it.
My 2023 Bronco from VA was new
My 2017 RAM 3500 dually from CA. It was used with only 23K miles. Bought last year.
I had lots of pics.
I had a video sent to me.
I had very detailed carfax data since it was new.
The dealer I bought it from insisted I hire a 3rd party inspector to come take the truck and do a thought inspection of it prior to the sale and shipment of the truck.
I want to say that cost something like $200 if memory served. They took the truck and did a much more comprehensive inspection that I would have been able to do on the dealer's lot by myself if I were looking at it in person.
With my classic 2001 2nd Gen 2500 Dodge RAM that shipped in from WA, it is 36K near mint condition survivor.
Similar sort of deal except they did not require a 3rd party inspection, but I had multiple videos and lot of pics, it was more of a one of kind find. Take it or leave it sort of deal. It had a little bit of hail damage nothing crazy, had it all taken care of when I got it back here to Wichita.
The Land Rover I traded in on my 2025 Ranger Raptor came out of a Land Rover dealer in Florida.
It was a 3500 mile demo, it did arrive here with a very tiny crack in the windshield that they nor I had notice in the pics and videos, but once I got my hands on it, I still didn't see it, my local detail guy discovered it. I went back to the pics and videos, blew up that area of the windshield and proved to the dealer it was that way when they sold it to me. That dealer paid the local Wichita Land Rover dealer to install a brand-new OEM windshield all on the that Florida dealers' dime.
I have done this sort of long distance purchasing many many times with Trucks, tractors, cars, ATVs, UTVs all sorts of equipment, rarely had any disappointments, and none that would have actually made me regret my discission to purchase it.
