Ranger 6G community,
I am very excited to finally be in a place where I can share the announcement of my company, Narwhal Truck Toppers, making our official debut at the SEMA show, November 4-7th. For those who are not aware, the show is open to the public on the 7th of November, and I would love to meet some of you in person and show you this amazing product our team has been working on for the past year and a half.
I have been a longtime member of this forum since I was made aware that the RR was coming to the US, and to the F150 and Raptor forums before this.
The topper idea was born from my personal experience running several different toppers/caps over the years — fiberglass, aluminum, soft toppers, etc. — and never being satisfied with the build quality, weight, or functionality of the products available in the marketplace.
I spent about a decade in the special operations community, regularly running several different trucks to their limits and breaking a lot of parts and equipment. We had a fleet of Raptors we used to run back and forth between sniper ranges, and they were the only trucks that didn’t bend frames or completely fall apart after 30k miles. This is what truly ignited my appreciation for the Raptor trucks in general.
Now for the topper.
The Narwhal MK1 is a full-carbon fiber monocoque shell with a removable carbon rear panel and openable carbon side panels. It also offers the option of adding a carbon-turret hatch for quick roof access (you can imagine all the possible activities that can be had with this).
The topper's weight will range from 95 to 125 lbs, depending on options. All of the carbon fiber components weighed 62lbs. The glass is where we add the most weight, but we will have the option of full-carbon side panels with no glass to reach the sub-100 lb unit. Weight was a big one for me; I can’t stand the look of a raptor with reverse rake, not to mention the performance characteristics you pay for in a raptor that get diminished.
The design wasn’t meant to blend in; it was meant to enhance the truck’s lines. I’m confident we have pulled this off, but I would love to hear thoughts from the community.
Diode Dynamics has partnered with us on lighting, and we will include two-stage series rock lights as the standard option for interior lighting.
The topper is fully bolted into the truck in all four corners. We are using L-track along the interior to attach accessories and brackets. For the Ranger, specifically, we have opted to remove the inferior plastic bed rail covers to ensure the tightest possible fitment of the topper against the bed. No other topper company besides Alu-Cab is doing this, and their system requires a ridiculous amount of hardware (ask me how I know).
Fortunately, my personal RR has been our truck for all test fitting and product validation, and we already have tooling in place, so this will be the first truck we can deliver units for. We plan to ship the first production units out the door in Q2 of 2026.
Background on the business.
This has been fully bootstrapped — I’m all in. A lot of incredible people have gone above and beyond because they believe in what we’re building. Our core design and engineering team includes two former Multimatic engineers, and our CTO has a background in aerospace composite applications. This is a significant reason the prototype has performed so well. We have put the truck through a week in Moab running washboards, whoops, and rock crawling. We took it all over Colorado on various 4WD trails, and we just shot our launch commercial at the North Sand Hills OHV area in CO with a professional driver beating the absolute hell out of the truck for two days, and the topper hasn’t been phased in the least.
We will launch at SEMA and have pre-orders open on November 1st. We are offering a launch discount for the first 1000 people to pre-order in full. We will be offering toppers for most Ford, GM/GMC, Ram, and Toyota trucks; however, the Ranger, F150 short bed, and Tacoma will be first in line.
We have a full production and capital requirements plan in place, waiting to be executed right after SEMA, and get the show rolling.

We have a lot more information on our website and social media channels if you want to learn more. There is also a 45-minute podcast link on our YouTube channel if you’re interested in hearing more about the company.
This forum has been a huge resource and community for me, and I hope some of you will be among the first to run a Narwhal on your truck.
Cheers,
