I had someone inquire about any compatibility issues with my BAK Revolver X4S and the AAL MOLLE panels.

No compatibility issues.

Figured I'd post that here along with photos of the install in case it helps anyone else!

Look like a nice clean install, great job! Is the front against the back of the bed/cab area sold as a single unit or do u have to buy the left and right sides and connector for the center?

Happen to have a link?

Its a single unit that you buy, but it ships in two pieces that connect in the center. I have it installed on mine, and other than removing the existing tie down bolts (which was a real pain), it was a clean and easy install and a high quality product. I have a Bak X4s too and there is not compatibility issue.

Yeah same as others have said. Another company makes them for the sides and they are perfect and not too pricey but they do not offer one for the bulkhead..

Bear in mind, the builtright side panels likely aren't compatible with the bulkhead one from AAL as they look to share the front attachment points. Might be able to bend one or the other to get them to fit but that's not ideal to do, especially with aluminum. On top of that the builtright are more expensive (AAL =$535 for sides with power cutout and powder coat vs. $590 for builtright) and in my opinion the builtright is an inferior product.

They're like 30 miles from my house and being a local business I wanted to support them, but the attach points and lack of support baffles to help strengthen the design resulted in the need to install support standoffs at spots which I wasn't a fan of.

The AAL option attaches at the rear, front, top and two at the bottom cargo hook, and thanks to the bend engineered at the top, it's rock solid.

In my attached photos you can see the support bends, and the attach points.

These small details make a big difference, especially if you use them like I do, not only to mount things to but I use bungee cords to strap things to these panels and straps across these panels to secure larger items.

These support bends in particular allow for a low profile and strong structure and add considerably to the manufacturing yet is more affordable than a product that is arguably easier to manufacture.

Just to be clear, our entire set, including our bulkhead MOLLE panel, can be bought for about $50 more than their two side panels.

It's also very important to point out the design differences. All of our panels have long lateral bends in them to prevent flexing and increase the ability to secure heavy gear. These aren't just flat panels.

I would buy the side panels also but I already have 2 swing away boxes installed. Shame you dont have a side mount set that stop short of those boxes, both would be awesome. I currently have 2 short bungee pouches attached on the front sides to hold light weight stuff.

Maybe you could only install the front half of the side panels. It would still be secure if you used the middle connection bracket. That bracket does contain the bottom connection point. Not sure of the measurements for your boxes, though.

Interesting . Didn't realize they where 2 piece. Would pics or measurements be easier for you to see if you think it would work. I dont mind if the small end of the box covers something small.

From what I understand, those swing out boxes attach to mounting holes on the side of the small wall where the tailgate slots into.

If that's correct, there shouldn't be any mounting issues. There's even potential they'd work with the entire molle panel installed depending on how far they sit off the bed sidewall when stowed.

Here you can see the seam, where the two pieces connect. There is a backing plate which has one of the two bottom mounting points. The entire backing plate and mounting point are red in the below picture.

You could install the front part, and install the backing plate attached only to the front half.

You can find details on what these parts look like here:

The above is on page 4 here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0...0_1021_1022-Bed_MOLLE_Panels.pdf?v=1753242206

As for measurements, I don't want to give you wrong info or false confidence that things will fit. The panels sit really tight to the side wall. About 1"or so off of it. You can use my images earlier in this thread for reference as to where the seam lines up with the wheel well and gauge that based on where your boxes land when in their stowed configuration.

You can use the light cutouts for reference as well, but ultimately you'll need to do your own due diligence to have adequate confidence this is something that will work. There's definitely potential.
