Hello all - first post here. I currently tow a 2017 Jeep Cherokee behind my motorhome. Will be trading it in the next couple weeks for a Ford Ranger - likely XLT trim unless I find a deal on a Lariat. The motorhome has air brakes and I've always used a Roadmaster Brakemaster for towed vehicle braking. It basically uses line pressure from the air brakes to proportionately push on the pedal with a slave air cylinder.

The Roadmaster web site includes the following footnote for the '25 Ranger. I haven't seen any other web sites mention brake sensitivity for the Ranger. Has anyone here experienced a problem with this flat towing?

Thanks

That may be because 6G Rangers use an Electric Brake Booster, not the previous Vacuum Brake Boosters that required the engine to be running for brake assist.
So, which 4x4 are you thinking of getting?

Is the brake booster powered when the switch is off?

Not much of a choice, is there. AFAIK, Part-time 4x4 is all that's available on non-Raptors.

Good question. I don't know for sure about power to the EBB when the switch off.

My mention of 4x4 was to indicate that, starting with MY25, ONLY 4x4 can be flat towed, but I think you already knew that. Options are 4x4 or the FX4, which has a few more bells and whistles for off roading.

No plans to do any serious off roading, so the part time 4x4 will work for me.
