Yes, Auto Hold.

Just makes things more relaxing. You have to be careful with it.

You could touch the pedals by accident and roll into car in front of you.

I also think if you drive another car you maybe think you put it on.

I don’t think auto hold uses the ebrake. I think it is the regular brake as I don’t hear the ebrake engage or disengage during auto hold

and you can enable or disable auto hold from the main screen under settings driver assistance

the 25 lariat does not automatically engage the e brake when placed into park.

yes, if you get used to auto hold it can be a bit awkward to drive another vehicle that doesn’t have it

I turned the Auto Hold off.

When not on it will not apply the brakes when parked.

Maybe it holds the fluid. The way it seems to release when Auto Hold is on this could be the case.

I am not sure how the Electric E Brake works. Is it applying an Actuator to push the pads on.

I switched the Auto Hold back on. Its very good to be able to not have to depress the brake pedal continually at a stop.

When in gear and leaving the Drive Brake release is applied. Kinda sounds like its still related to the E Brake.

How do I use the electric parking brake?

The motor shut off is not helpful for a Turbo Charger to keep it lubricated and cooled.

Maybe what i will start doing is shutting off the Engine Stop and push E Brake down. Release

I do not like the way the brakes release when leaving from Park.

I am assuming that the electronic brake is electricalling operated actuator. I can definitely hear it engage and disengage

I don't hear embrace when I go into autohold or disengage it. I will have to try to listen closer next time to make sure.

If you go into park and set the brake. When you get ready to go, again, you can with your foot on the brake, release the ebrake by using the button, then when you release the brake, the truck will move without having to touch the gas pedal.

at least that is the way my fuzzy memory remembers it.

The problem with the auto hold is if you do come to a stop and engage it (and you will see the icon on the display) you have to touch the gas pedal to move again And I agree, that is a bit awkward for small movements. Who wants to hit their gas pedal to move a couple of inches?

But like the auto stop feature, you can come to a complete stop without the auto hold engaging but it takes a lighter touch. So for easing into a parking spot or garage, at least for me, it is not an issue as a can creep in real slow using the brake and not have to come to a complete stop until I get to my mark which in my case is a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling.

This whole thread comes about because there is a device to engage the ebrake automatically when you put the truck into park. But apparently it doesn't work with the 2025?

My wife's RAV4 works like that. My last two trucks I had to pull on a handle to engage the parking brake. I can live with touching a button because it gives me the option to not engage the brake which could be handy in certain places.

Yeah, Ford’s transmissions and I haven’t always seen eye to eye - I’ve killed three of them and I drive like granma (at least compared to my wife).

wince every time I forget to engage the parking brake and feel the truck slide back a few inches to rest on the transmission.

The auto handbrake module was intended to help prolong its life and avoid a situation like my Escape, where the transmission blew less than 1k after the power train warranty expired.

I don’t understand why it even needs a module and this can’t just be done in settings. It’s only a couple lines of code, right?

Good info !

Makes sense not to put pressure on the transmission to hold vehicle.

I find the delay before the Auto Hold is applied is good. Seems to let you have a light pressure on pedal before Auto Hold is applied.

I think I will leave the Auto Hold set to apply. Its easier to have it engage it self then thinking about switching the manual E braking on. I do like the Auto Hold. So glad i do not have a clutch to use. Although I did like rolling the gears.

Maybe that will be a normal procedure before moving from parked. Disengage out start stop and release E Brake by pushing down on switch or just put up with the lurching forward if its protecting the Transmission.

Because of this regular engagement when I rotate the tires I will clean the braking system and make sure the slides are free. Even pad wear.

Has anyone gotten the auto e-brake to work with a 24 with keyed ignition/mechanical shifter? I'm not able to get it to trigger at all
