Teaser, new wheels/tires Volk ZE40X and Baja Boss 295/70

I have a 2025 Carbonized Grey that just arrived to my local dealer and is being prepped. I ordered a set of 17x8.5 +15 Volk ZE40X and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 295/70R17. I've modified many cars in the past and am at a stage of stock plus being about as far as I want to go. Other plans include ditching the side steps for sliders (with platform), Rally Armor Mudflaps, FP Tune, and a few bits and pieces as I go. Wheels/Tires set to arrive April 6th so hopefully will have pics shortly after. The Volks in this format are just under 20lbs (from the info I was able to obtain). I'm not sure on the weight difference of the tires but I'm hoping they will be equal to or less than stock (combined)

I think I'm going to give the Baja Boss AT a shot on my truck after I lift enough to fit 285s, looks like a nice improvement over the common KO2 and AT4W

Please do share the actual weight of the tire if you can measure. I'm super curious how 295/70R17 can be heavier than 315/70R17 and 35x12.50R17 on paper (72 lb vs 71 lb vs 69 lb, respectively).

That should look good, love Volk wheels. Im a huge fan of Mickey Thompson. Had the Baja Boss and the Baja Legend MTZ on my Bronco and I won't ride on anything else. Can't wait to get rid of these K03s.

I'll take my scale to the shop to weight the new wheels and tires and old set up for comparison (although there are lots in the forum for stock). This is my truck from the dealer site (picking it up this weekend) and a pic of the Volks on a Black Ranger.

Can never go wrong with Rays Wheels..I just wish they offered more offset options.

Tires are 70lbs and wheels 20lbs. 90 total.

Ray's makes a VERY nice wheel. And you definitely can't go wrong with MT tires. Awesome choices all around.

Center caps didn’t arrive but will be on next week and I’ll do a better photo job. Also should have Rally Armor mudflaos and possibly the MBRP axle black with black turndown tips. Definitely notice the increase in weight. I don’t feel that the tires are much “firmer riding”. They do rub on the crash bars so will remove those. I can get 1 & 3/4 turn plus a bit before rubbage (parking). I only drove 10 minutes back from the shop so hard to give a good critique. I’d say the truck just feels a bit more truckish. I’ll get the FP tune in a month or so once the truck is broke. In and I get a couple tanks of premium through it.
