Yesterday I was backing out of a parking spot at a grocery store. Going slow, watching for oblivious people walking and other traffic, and watching my camera as a backed close to another vehicle. Then a rough shake/jar/jolt like I had hit something. My first thought was I missed something in the mirrors or camera and bumped into something. However, I wasn't with 2'-3' of anything. Basically I was backing slow and turning the back end to the right when it happened. I walked around the truck and I clearly hadn't hit anything.

Later yesterday, in a different grocery store parking lot (maybe that's the issue - too many grocery store stops) I was moving slowly forward to turn down a row to park, and while creeping forward and turning left, I felt like I ran over something. I'm not sure these are related, but I've never felt either before. It hasn't happened again since.

Could this be a transmission thing? The only other thing I thought of was loose/worn suspension components, but that seems unlikely on a 2024 with less than 10K miles.

Any thoughts?

no idea but hopefully is not a trans issue.

the only weird feeling my transmission ever has is that skip shift where it goes from first to third. i hate that because of how it feels like it jumps forward a little

Could be the slip yoke needs lubrication. I've had jolts in another truck when coming to a stop, that went away when the slip yoke was greased up. Granted, that was an older truck.

I'll look into that. It was an issue with the 5G Ranger Tremors.

Only issue I have similar is backing into my one care garage. Backing too fast will lock the brakes as the sensors pick up obstacles (shelves) close to the sides. No warning.
When the brakes lock it's a grinding noise.
Never had it happen going forward.

Do you have 4x4 on your vehicle?

That's interesting, and a possibility. I was getting close to another vehicle as I backed up. Maybe it hit the brakes for me? I've never had it happen like that before though.

I spoke with a service tech. He said his Ford vehicle does the same thing, and that the way it brakes when it thinks it's too close to something is very "finicky" and will sometimes brake harder than you expect giving the feeling you hit something.

that down shift weird feeling from 3rd to 1st is very off putting. i don't know why it does it, but sometimes it does and it sure makes you think the truck is going to jump forward a bit
