  1. Thoughts on my Ranger XLT FX4 after 7 months, 8800 miles

Meant to do this at six months but forgot. I bought this truck in April and have driven 8800 miles, including lots of road trips, towing a teardrop camp trailer, off road, a tiny bit of snow, and daily driving. This is my first truck and my first real 4x4 after three Subarus (two Outbacks and...
  2. On road AT tires - I'm down to three options

Thanks for input and suggestions. I ordered the Kumho Road Venture AT 52s. There are a lot of good reviews of these tires and they should be a little more capable than the others I was considering while still be pretty quite and smooth on pavement. Time will tell.
  3. Help with tire selection

What's the offset of those wheels? Any rubbing?
  4. On road AT tires - I'm down to three options

Not a lot of testing on these Nokians. They seem interesting based on some reviews but I’d want more of a track record before buying. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  5. On road AT tires - I'm down to three options

Yup, and some comparison videos. Each of three I’m considering has pros and cons.
  6. On road AT tires - I'm down to three options

    Nope. Too aggressive.
  7. On road AT tires - I'm down to three options

(EDIT - I ordered the Kumho Road Venture AT52s from Discount Tire. Won't be installed till 12/6) I'm in an XLT FX4 with the 2.3L engine. Sticking with stock wheels and going 255/70R17. I want to upgrade the stock Wranglers. but nothing too aggressive. I want a balance of on road performance...
  8. AT tires that are good on the highway and snow

But that is not what the Ranger FX4 comes with. It comes with Wrangler Territory AT/S. Much different tire and not very good, IMO.
  9. Wrangler AT/S tire pressure

I run a bit lower, 27-28 when cold. But I’m replacing the tires soon.
  10. Largest Tires Possible on Stock Rims 18" Wheels?

But they went with wheels with less offset, which I think should help a little (moves the tire out). Not sure if 32s would work on stock wheels.
  11. I just purchased my 2024 Lariat and I'm in love - need some bed cover suggestions!

I have this truxedo hard roll up cover. Never had a tonneau before. It works OK. The latches no longer lock easliy so I may have to adjust the rails. It’s reasonably water resistant. Honestly, I think it’s overpriced, but maybe this is what you get for hard tonneaus. I’m already considering a...
  12. What are you towing with your 6th Gen Ranger?

A tiny off road “square drop” camp trailer. Only about 1500 pounds or so, maybe a bit more when fully loaded. I’ve taken it on some moderately challenging 4x4 roads.
  13. The Ranger's windshield is garbage

I have an XLT purchased in April of this year. Within weeks and two or three thousand miles I got a stress crack in my windshield. Thankfully, the dealership agreed it was simply stress crack and not caused by a chip and they replaced it under warranty. In addition to that crack, the original...
  14. What is your APR?

Not sure if you don’t have good credit, but we got 4.99 from Navy FCU. Might pay it off early anyway as interest rates drop.
  15. MTB Riders?

Yep, literally been mtn biking since 1994. First in New England, then the mid-Atlantic, now Colorado. Still love it.
  16. Phone Mount Solutions?

I use Gaia GPS, but they both work via CarPlay/Android and can show maps on the screen. To me it’s one advantage of the nice screens in modern cars. I’ve used that for off road travel for several years. But to each their own.
  17. Gift from Ford Performance

I got a decent steel water bottle and some good cookies from the dealership. But I bought an XLT.
  18. Towing with the 2.3L Ranger Lariat

That's great. We tow a teadrop that weighs maybe 1700 pounds when fully loaded up and our XLT does great, even off road.
