Took it for a spin on National Forest logging roads in New Mexico and Colorado. Found it to be capable enough but I would like to install a 1.5-2.5” lift kit in front and perhaps sturdier shocks. I was told by dealership in Austin that Ford performance has nothing for the Ranger and that I would violate my warranty by making these simple mods. Is this true? Is this what dealers in Colorado and New Mexico or other mountain states are telling Ranger owners?

Current market for the 6G is pretty abysmal unless you live in AU/NZ.

TexasTruckChannel on youtube has a 6G XLT FX4 and they installed the 5G Ranger Tremor Fox shocks and said they fit perfect. That may be a good option for you to look at

The Dobinson lift appears to be the best so far. I have not pulled the trigger yet. Planning on doing it next year.

Regarding the warranty, there were several law suites on that topic a number of years ago.
I am not a lawyer and don't have the specifics but as I understand it, Ford has to honor the warranty unless they can prove the modification caused the problem.

Yea, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act specifies that the burden is on them to prove your aftermarket modifications damaged a component under warranty. They can't blanket deny warranty work because of aftermarket mods. Especially on unrelated components.
