Quick question for the group... there seems to be conflicting information when asking Google the following question, answers come up on both tranies for my vehicle, depending on how search criteria is phrased.

Does anyone know definitively which transmission is in the 2024 For Ranger Raptor, the 10R60 or the 10R80?

Thanks folks...

Yikes... this I did not know, about the manufacturer torque limits. Wonder why they chose the 60 over the 80, with a truck they already beefed up virtually everywhere. Maybe the bottom dollar production cost would have added more to the initial build and end MSRP, just that much more on an already relatively expensive truck... Thanks for the info.

It’s don’t believe it’s an issue. How many transmission failures have you heard of or seen? I’m not saying they don’t happen but I’ve never heard of one and I’ve had 3 vehicles with the 10R60 and the 3.0TT and not had any issues personally, and been on the explorer ST forum since 2021

If you read to the end of the thread, Lion77 makes a pretty good argument that the rating is 600 lb-ft not 600 NM. The argument being that the 10r140 in the F250/350 with the HO6.7 is already over the torque spec from the factory if its in NM, where there is a 200lb-ft safety margin if its in lb-ft.

All in all, the information in the thread I linked to eased my mind and I went from sitting on the fence to doing the software/performance tune. Loving the results.

I as well... when you tell it to "scoot", it doesn't even think about it, it just does it and yells NEXT!
